Re: Gunslinger Girl --Il Teatrino-- News
The eyes are pretty big in the anime too:
In the scan above Claes, and Triela's eyes seem normal, and Rico's are larger then usual for the manga. Either because she's happy or it's just inconsistency.
As for the growing part, I don't know about all the behind the scenes speculation, but in the manga it says that a year has passed and right on que the girls seem taller.
Oh, and Triela and Rico seem to be growing up. Triela... well just look, and Rico's figure is changing.

Gotta love that messy hair. ...Although she seems a bit un-Rico-ish in that one.Sintendo wrote:As long as Rico still has this WILD HAIR, I'm fine.
It would be weir otherwise, series ended about episode 3.LoC978 wrote: It looks like I get my wish, it's going to be volumes 3-5! :faint:

Re: Gunslinger Girl --Il Teatrino-- News
Rico's has grown as I have stated in The Cyborgs Are Growing thread.
As for Triela, she's always has had boobies, I would dare say the begining, but she is filling up. It seems that her and Claes are the oldest girls to be turned cyborg until Petrushka came along. BTW, Claes also has boobies... But who's counting?

I've been wondering about that. I was sure it's some crazy forum/chat/msn/IRC shorthand for the initiated, but the answer was right underneath my nose.
No Petra voice? This sounds interesting. The anime is known to switch things around a bit, so we may get a surprise... When is it supposed to air, again?

Damn! That would make the series from vol.3 to vol.6/chptr 30, where Alessandro joins the team.
That would include the two fights Triela has with Pino and her rebuild fromthe second fight. Hmmm... that would mean that they destroy Padania's top bombers and the mob boss. Who are to replace them?

Re: Gunslinger Girl --Il Teatrino-- News
The hair's nothing exceptional - Rico isn't the only one in anime to wear her locks like that. And no - it wasn't the skirt that threw me off, Klicks (I've drawn Rico in skirts many times, and have seen her canonically appear in an evening gown), but the fact that she was being depicted topless and in a manner clearly meant to titillate. Gunslinger Girl's devoid of overtly smutty material, and that's what blinded me to the subject's identity. I never once suspected it would have been of those goddamned doujins.
I'm one of those people who thinks that the SWA's cybernetic re-modification has mutilated the girls into permanent children - if you follow my hypothesis, Rico would still look eleven even if she hit thirty.

Re: Gunslinger Girl --Il Teatrino-- News
Somehow Rico's haristyle seems relatively specific to me. The three tufts of hair in the front, the proportions of these, and the sideburns which seem to fan out at the bottom.
Now that I think about it I've seen that immage before somewhere, so that's how I recognized this.
Doujishin are actually sometimes done in keeping with the convention of the anime/manga (although it's very rare).
Yeah, the growing thing really should get straightened out. I'm from the opposite camp, but I think a peacefire is in order untill series 2 comes out and sheds some light on this.

Personally, I think the most prominent feature of Rico's hair was her sideburns.
Triela = Pig Tails
Henrietta = Bowl cut/Bobbed hair
Claes = Long and flowing
Elsa = Braided Pig tails

I don't find your avatar offensive, Sin. You can retain it if you so wish - although I must say that I liked 'Scowling Mars' far better.
I'm still iffy on the 'pigtails' term. Where I come from, that term is only used for short, tied hair, while anything in the order of what Triela wears her hair in would be called 'ponytails'. Elsa's I would just term 'braids'.
Rico wouldn't look half bad with longer hair.

It was the moon, actually.
Yeah, there was a discussion about "da hair" back in the old forum. Originally, I said that Triela's hair was in "Ponytails", but damn near everyone jumped on my case for mislabeling them... oh... the scars have come back...
That wouldn't be a bad idea there... After this semister is over, I'll 'shop her hair just to see what it looks like.

I would agree to that. It's part of her character. The type of cutness you might ascribe to Angelica or Henrietta doesn't quite suit her. I would be interested in how you guys have drawn her with long hair, though. So if you've got that done, please post.sasahara17 wrote:Her 'tom-boyish' look is her most attractive feature I'd say.
It's definitely a Rico'ish situation. And yeah, it's hard to explain. I guess none of the other girls would combine that innocent cutness and inexperience with the same sense of urgency. Nah, can't explain, but I agree.sasahara17 wrote:The Avatar is actually rather cute Sintendo. I don't know why, but

I've taken a look at it. Most of it is random sez with no plot whatsoever. This Rico sketch is a stand alone piece. So, I just can't quite figgure out why the SVD's are there. Is this being shouted? Is it just a comment? Damn, the author of that pic is screwing with my brain.Wileama wrote:Oh well that makes sense. I was unaware of that abreviation. Wait. That's Rico... so... to get her rifle... ...that's a good question... the time it's supposed to air is listed as "Month/27:00". If you look at some of the other series' listed, they have things like "Water" or "Wood"... (or sometimes just "Saturday"... that one makes sense) instead of "Month"... are we getting into zodiac attributes here?Totoum wrote:though what time is "27:00" lol?
as for 27:00... joke answer: 0300. tomorrow. but when the time arrives... it's still tomorrow. NUUUUUUUUU!

My god, don't you all see! 27:00. The Japanese are so productive that they've managed to create another three hours in the day! No wonder they have so much high tech stuff. They've had months, maybe years in extra time to develop stuff. The implications are truly freighting.
I can't wait to get the first episode.

3klicks wrote:I would agree to that. It's part of her character. The type of cutness you might ascribe to Angelica or Henrietta doesn't quite suit her. I would be interested in how you guys have drawn her with long hair, though. So if you've got that done, please post.
I haven't done any proper drawings yet - all I have are some stuff you could consider 'doodles' at best. I promise to post them as soon as they're done, but don't hold your breath - academics and work continue to stalk and plague me like two... giant... plaguing and stalking... things. Oy.
Rico with long hair doesn't even vaguely resemble Elsa, who looks cold and hard no matter what hairstyle she wears (yes, I experimented with that, too). Our little Sniper Wolf ends up looking very sweet and demure - an effect that's amplified when you also put her in a dress.
Just for the record - I groaned with disappointment when Henrietta's tresses were cut short.

When did Elsa come up? It's more that Henrietta and Angelica have the cutness of a dolly, while Rico's cutness is more along the lines of a little animal, like a rabit or fox-cub. I can never quite explain things when it comes to non-mechanical discussion, but you get the point.
I like Rico in her dress-pants, but a dress is fine too (Just, please, promise me it won't be an aggressively pink one like on the figurine.)
I completely missed this, when did it happen?Nachtsider wrote:Just for the record - I groaned with disappointment when Henrietta's tresses were cut short.

Klicks, Elsa came up when Sasahara mentioned that he thought Rico with long hair looked like her to him. The fox-cub analogy is a very nice one. And no - the dress I had Rico wear was a muted forest green.
Henrietta sported long hair before being turned into a cyborg - see Volume One of the manga, or Episode One of the anime.

Like Elsa with long hair? Hmm... Somehow their tipical face expressions are so at odds with each other that I doubt I would get them confused, even if they would look similar. Also, with long hair the hair in the front would stay the same. Rico's is roughly divided into 3 in the front and is generally all over the place, while Elsa's is split in the middle.Nachtsider wrote:Klicks, Elsa came up when Sasahara mentioned that he thought Rico with long hair looked like her to him.
I remember now. It was in the very beggining so it got lost somewhere for me.Nachtsider wrote:Henrietta sported long hair before being turned into a cyborg - see Volume One of the manga, or Episode One of the anime.

another distinguishing feature: Elsa's eyes are green, Rico's are blue.
...I'd love to see your take on a long-haired Rico, Nachtsider.

I can't believe the number of fanfic writers who depict Elsa's eyes as being blue.
