OOO MATADOR FTW.The missile has a little knob that you can adjust so that it can switch from HEAT (High explosive Anti Tank) to HESH (High Explosive Squash Head) so it can be an anti tank weapon and a door/wall breacher

I hate to say it but this looks like a pretty useless gun... unless you coat the bullet with curare or shoot it point-blank
So wait, thats the gun itself next to a .45 round? and... there is no visual trickery going on?
Holy shit....

Really? Wow...
now the question then seems to be its capability to penetrate modern tank armor. They should test that thing against an Abrams reactive armor or a Leopard II. Maybe a Challenger or Merkava just to assure its work-capability.
...if all else fails, maybe a T-90 will do. :p

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MATADOR_(weapon) (Bah the wiki link doesn't seem to come out right)
No idea about its anti-tank capabilities. As far as I know the Singaporeans haven't used it in combat. At this point the only time it was deployed in Israel (Yes they made the SIMON system and they didn't use it ) in Jan 2009 to breach walls and doors

Re: Unique / Odd Weapons
There is precious little that will go through an Abrams or Challenger II, and most of what will needs to come out of another tank's main gun.
I expect it's designed more for the older Soviet-era weaponry Israel's neighbors have, but it's primary purpose would be for use against "soft targets" like buildings and maybe vehicles since that is what the IDF is normally up against in their operations in the West Bank and Gaza.

Re: Unique / Odd Weapons
Ok, believe it or not, the following weapons were designed to be functional. They are real, historic weapons. I'll start with the lesser-weird.
We're probably all familiar with the missile-launcher pistol... the Gyro Jet pistol.
There was a bayonet plug that was designed to spring out into a trident when pressure was felt, or by trigger by means of a button. This below is a "regular" trident dagger.
People have tried making bayonets/daggers with their handguns.
.... ... Fail. Even today.
Now we can see early attempts at the Swiss Army Knife. In case you are under attack while eating...
Would you like a cane, sheathed sword, AND a warhammer all-in-one?
This idea sadly didn't catch on. It was a pistol on the end of a shield.
And... to top it all of as the weirdest/bizzare of them all...
The shield-sword-gauntlet-sword catcher-lantern.

A couple weird pistol-knife/pistol sword combinations.
First off, the Sierra Madre Pistol, a cross between a knife and a single shot .22 caliber pistol. These weapons are still in production today.
And, an incomplete WWII-era Japanese pistol-katana combining a Nambu 7.65mm pistol and a sword blade.

As for the weight, I don't know exactly, but my guess is about 40-55 pounds (20 to 25 kg). The shield really isn't that thick, it's made of fairly light material for the time. Honestly, it's the lantern that throws me off. The Spartan shield was close to 70 lbs (30 kg), but that's a full-body (thick) bronze shield.

The 2 bore rifle, firing a half pound slug
And the ammo.
But the 2 bore's nothing compared to the "Davy Crockett" Nuclear Recoilless Rifle
And some nuclear air-to-air missiles
The unguided AIR-2 Genie rocket
And the guided AIM-26 Falcon

The blade of the Nambu pistol-sword doesn't sprout out through the top of the gun. It's fastened to the side of the gun, the root of the blade being near the upper part of the grip. No interference with cycling whatsoever.

maybe it was just that sword gun that was missing its trigger...I mean you could probably get a new trigger from Wal-Mart.

it was shit because it was a Volkssturm (National Militia) weapon built under the Primitiv-Waffen-Programm ("primitive weapons program")
it did have a SMG the Volksmaschinenpistole ("people's submachine gun")
that was based off the Sten gun(it self a named the "Plumber's Nightmare")
hell the weapons built in occupied Poland
The Błyskawica (Lightning) 700 built in occupied Poland
The K pattern flamethrower built in the hundreds (in one workshop of Antoni Więckowski in Warsaw alone, there were about 400 produced)

That's CornerShot. A badass piece made by an equally badass Israeli, it allows the user to mount a weapon on it and shoot around corners. There's even a little screen to let the user aim the weapon
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CornerShot
Apparently there are versions that allow the M16 and even a 40mm grenade launcher to be mounted. Nothing to be sniffed at

That one was an epic fail because it was an actual airsoft gun with a barrel that could go round corners and had a mirror that helped in aiming. When you force the air through a bent barrel, you can imagine that the projectile (or whatever you call it) comes out with less force, so the sharper the angle the less the projectile will fly. Also, the mirror was basically a mirror on a stick and fell off easily. The fact that it was discontinued speaks volumes
