You mean a fitting engagement ring when the cyborgs marry their handlers as a guise in order to get rid of the handlers under the Agency's orders

I think I've seen 2nd Ranger Battalion forces use those when they deploy from Fort Lewis to Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest on training. I'm also told it's standard equipment for the 10th Mountain Division.

What year was it made? From the 1840's to the 1890's there were guns made for all sorts of conceivable reasons! I would believe this was from this time era. I love guns from this time.Awinnell wrote:okay this is an odd one, an 18 shot 3 barrelled revolver in .25 !

theres a similar french gun with two barrels and twenty rounds, the switch at the rear of the gun selects which circle of ammo you are firing, the ammo is held between two plates and these act like speed loaders

I know the C96 does it, even though there are also magazine versions of it.
But a modern design like that styre?

I've fired quite a few of them and it uses magazines. There isn't any other way to load that thing. at least not to my knowledge.

Oops got it mixed up with the Borchardt pistol, which was sometimes (incorrectly, it seems) called the Borchardt-Luger pistol

Re: Unique / Odd Weapons
For the record, this is a modern Steyr pistol:
That stripper clip fed 9x23mm is circa World War I. It's a contemporary of the original Colt M1911 (and in fact, that Steyr was originally called the Model 1911 itself, though the version the Austro-Hungarian Army eventually adopted was called the M12). As such it isn't all that surprising that it has some features that would be considered anachronistic on a modern handgun. (Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one of the (Colt) M1911's big claims to fame that it more or less standardised a lot of modern handgun features?)

Ahh that's more like it.
Yes, one of its claims to fame was the fact that it set some ground rules in handguns

Re: Unique / Odd Weapons
The above mentined Borchardt pistol
This Pistol proved to expensive to build as a commercial sucess,it was generally considered to be a light Carbine rather than a pistol and was generally used with the stock attached ,it also had poor ergonomics in the vertical handgrip.

One of the worlds smallest guns the Kolibri 2.7mm pistol, the .45 is for scale
at the time the technology to rifle such a small barrel did not exist, so it was smoothbore,it was also so small that it was difficult to load and use,the bullet had a very low velocity of about 600fps,its max penetration was about 40mm of pine

Oh, I've seen that one on future weapons in Discovery channel once. Very cool.
Though its designed for breaching doors at a distance, imagine what you can do when you improvise with that thing.

Was the company name 'Rafael'? Israeli made, is it? I think I've seen it in Future Weapons. It kinda works similarly like WWII M1 Garand/K98K Rifle Grenades.
Maybe next time Rafael will made an Anti-Armor SIMON for infantry units to crack open some tanks or APCs...hehehe...makes me want to think of this kind of scene:
Triela: Damn they got through that door! (checks) its locked too!
Hillshire: Use the new SIMON. Rafael decided we get to test it. What a cheeky attempt of cross-marketing...
Triela: Well, Walther and Sig Sauer has been advertising their guns with us, so why not?
(checks the SIMON)
SIMON huh...? (loads it up) SIMON SAYS...!
OPEN THE GODDAMN DOOR!!!!!
*boom*
Triela: What SIMON says, SIMON says...! Not even idols can stand against SIMON!

OOO MATADOR FTW.The missile has a little knob that you can adjust so that it can switch from HEAT (High explosive Anti Tank) to HESH (High Explosive Squash Head) so it can be an anti tank weapon and a door/wall breacher

Really? Wow...
now the question then seems to be its capability to penetrate modern tank armor. They should test that thing against an Abrams reactive armor or a Leopard II. Maybe a Challenger or Merkava just to assure its work-capability.
...if all else fails, maybe a T-90 will do. :p

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MATADOR_(weapon) (Bah the wiki link doesn't seem to come out right)
No idea about its anti-tank capabilities. As far as I know the Singaporeans haven't used it in combat. At this point the only time it was deployed in Israel (Yes they made the SIMON system and they didn't use it ) in Jan 2009 to breach walls and doors

Re: Unique / Odd Weapons
There is precious little that will go through an Abrams or Challenger II, and most of what will needs to come out of another tank's main gun.
I expect it's designed more for the older Soviet-era weaponry Israel's neighbors have, but it's primary purpose would be for use against "soft targets" like buildings and maybe vehicles since that is what the IDF is normally up against in their operations in the West Bank and Gaza.

Re: Unique / Odd Weapons
Ok, believe it or not, the following weapons were designed to be functional. They are real, historic weapons. I'll start with the lesser-weird.
We're probably all familiar with the missile-launcher pistol... the Gyro Jet pistol.
There was a bayonet plug that was designed to spring out into a trident when pressure was felt, or by trigger by means of a button. This below is a "regular" trident dagger.
People have tried making bayonets/daggers with their handguns.
.... ... Fail. Even today.
Now we can see early attempts at the Swiss Army Knife. In case you are under attack while eating...
Would you like a cane, sheathed sword, AND a warhammer all-in-one?
This idea sadly didn't catch on. It was a pistol on the end of a shield.
And... to top it all of as the weirdest/bizzare of them all...
The shield-sword-gauntlet-sword catcher-lantern.
