She already had his info, so no worries about the shirt. He apparently ran through several yards, attempted to break into a house to get away, and leapt back and forth over the same fence about 4 times trying to get away... the only thing that could have made it better would have been a K-9 bite at the end. *grins*

In other news, my copies of Range Murata's artbooks form|code and future rhythm arrived in the mail today. Aside from the fact that I'm a total sucker for pretty much anything Range turns his hand to, they're the special editions: the ones that come on a set of ring binders. What I love most about them is that the books themselves are actually designed objects. It hasn't just been a case of "here's some pictures, put one down per page and perfect-bind the sucker... there's actually been some thought put into how they go together.
Also the thick, satin paper stock is dead sexy.

Alas, we don't get Top Gear day-and-date with the UK like we do Doctor Who*, but that is what the torrent sites are for.
* - Which I admit I am a bit surprised that BBC America does not run a new TG episode on Monday (which is when new episodes are shown). They now start a new TG series on BBC America within a few weeks of it ending on BBC2, but the Beeb does acknowledge that TG is one of their most-torrented shows (and I am guessing is one of the reasons they moved Doctor Who to day-and-date with the UK).
Oh well, we do get one of the older seasons for the first time this Monday.

I just got a new phone! I love it! I was gonna get an iphone but decided against it when I realized the iphone 4s wasn't 4g (why call a phone "4" and not make it 4g? Stupid apple!) and I got the droid razor xxx instead and I LOVE IT! I am in the process of putting my itunes on it (the guys at the verizon store hacked it for me and got me apps that shoulda cost me for free lol) and I'm also learning my way around it. I've never had a smart phone before. It's so cool. OK I'm done being spazzy about the new phone. It just makes me happy.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
Was running today, running out of juice, but almost to the end of the run... I was falling to a near-walking pace when the main theme from Il Teatrino came on - which is weird, because it's not on my running playlist.
The image came to my mind of Triela running in front of me, looking back with a smug expression on her face because I couldn't keep up, then running off ahead.
Needless to say, I finished with a much better pace, and even tacked on another quarter mile, just so I could finish the song.
I writing it down, this actually came off a little creepy, but I'm still gonna go with it, because that's not how it was at the time. *wry smile*

For the last few days I've been unloading my shipping container, carrying loads of boxes (books...boxes and boxes of fucking heavy books) while contending with near freezing temps and ice that always seems to be in the least convenient location. Having a chemically brainwashed cyborg to help tote the heavy stuff would certainly speed things up.

What am I happy about?
I just bought a really nice (see:expensive) coat that is an adorable fake-vintage style that makes me look like a gunslinger girl!! I swear! It looks like something Henrietta would wear!
I can't post a pic of myself, but maybe I'll draw Agnes in it and post that!
I'm so happy: it's a vintage-style navy blue coatdress with a fitted waist that flares out like a skirt from the 50's! It's wool with a round collar, brassy-gold, antique-looking buttons with anchors on them, and the whole thing has a navy-inspired white pipping! It just arrived to day! I'm on cloud nine!~<3 ( I found that emoticon and had to go back and use it...)

Heh...From my experience, Bee isn't much nicer herself! I think Rico is probably the most unconditionally polite, but...that does factor into the sense that she has all the charm of a high-functioning sociopath. I can understand you not wanting her in your home...why must she be so cute!?

Why am I happy? Went to wash Alfa, three hours later: finally got it started again and left carwash. One of the nice things about breaking down in an old car is that people are really nice about it and stop for a chat and to see if they can do anything to help. I'm sure if the same thing happend in the BMW everyone would just stand back and laugh before being hacked off about it being in the way.
Also, the Alfa sounds awesome with the airbox off.

Been there. For some reason my Cosworth Sierra loved running in the rain and damp but hated being washed. More than once I had to push her out of the car wash and into a position where the sun could dry all the wiring under the hood (lucky for me that was only a 2600lb car).Alfisti wrote:Went to wash Alfa, three hours later: finally got it started again and left carwash.

Wow interesting Officer. I looked up the game and it seems like a real sad tale what with every major player in the game being disabled in some way. Well I haven't played it yet, but I guess there's happy endings right?

Re: What are you happy about right now?
There are some VERY happy endings in the game... for the most part, it's about how the girls aren't defined by their disabilities... they are simply a part of them, and how the main player interacts with them helps to illustrate this fact...
It is a fabulously well-written game, and I would recommend playing it to anyone... as with any such well-written game, the H-scenes are voyeuristic and intrusive, and can thankfully be turned off.

It fit wonderfully~! The best part was, A portfolio of one of my series of illustration/communication art works won a fancy-shmancy award, and I wore a lacy, poofy, vintage looking halter dress with little vintage looking shoes and fire-engine red lipstick, and I wore my coat overtop. I think I got more compliments on how I looked than I got from how my art looked. Not sure if that's good or bad, but I was flattered regardless!
I LOVE ordering online; I spend way too much cash on clothes, so I keep an incredibly organized system I made for myself just to keep constant tabs on prices, sales, styles, trends...
...actually it's the only thing in my life that's organized. For real: I'm ADD-i. But this is one thing that's borderline OCD.
Anywho, I like the internet for my shopping for these reasons:
3)I buy more logically and less impulsively (the tragic but common "But I came all this way to shop...")
2)I like to be able to compare prices of a lot of similar items at once (so I don't blow all my money on something without seeing my options)
1) I like to be able to read other's feedback (concerns, problems, things they loved, suggestions...)

Ok, you have my attention now... that sounds like a brilliant combo. Congrats on the art award as well, if it helps just consider being complimented on your appearance as another compliment directed at your artmushi4fr wrote:lacy, poofy, vintage looking halter dress with little vintage looking shoes and fire-engine red lipstick, and I wore my coat overtop.

I don't buy a huge amount of clothes, but when I do I buy good stuff... my shopping is also probably a bit more laser guided. I'll look at my wardrobe and think, say, "I need red chinos"... and I'll go out and find red chinos. I'll happily spend a day doing that, but if I don't find what I want then I won't buy anything... right now the "I needs" are brown wingtips and summer-weight driving gloves (I'd like string back, but there's also a smashing pair of bright orange open back ones in Hermes right now), oh, and a navy blazer.
However I do have trouble finding things that fit me well, and if I'm about to drop a couple of hundred dollars on clothes I'd like to be able to try them on first... hence the adversion to online shopping.

Queensland Police Service Facebook:
"We are not sure where the rest of her is, but there is a witche's hat on the Ted Smout Bridge SB between lanes 2 and 3."
Gave me a chuckle this morning... the QPS facebook is good for that plus, you know: finding out where the latest road accident, traffic jam, murder or armed robbery has occured.

I think the best one was in the comments. For those unfamiliar: we currently have a female (and deeply unpopular) Prime Minister. Someone's written "Don't worry, she's probably safe in Canberra by now".Professor Voodoo wrote:Rico: Somebody threw water on her and she melted!Alfisti wrote:Queensland Police Service Facebook:

Latest one that gave me a chuckle:
"What the? In the middle of the road? Large concrete block on Nudgee Rd, Nudgee. Drive carefully." - tagged: #youwillnotwindonteventry.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
I realise it's all staged, but it's still nice when you walk into the car dealership half a year after you bought a car there and the first thing that happens is the salesman you dealt with leaves what he was doing to say hi and see how the car is for you.
Give BMW this: their customer service has been second to none.

Was it a new vehicle that you bought?Alfisti wrote:I realise it's all staged, but it's still nice when you walk into the car dealership half a year after you bought a car there and the first thing that happens is the salesman you dealt with leaves what he was doing to say hi and see how the car is for you.

I enjoyed a similar experience when I purchased the only new vehicle I ever bought (a 1998 Suzuki TL1000R in Trier, Germany). Any time the thing needed scheduled or factory recall maintenance the dealership handed me the keys to a loaner bike to use until they were done. Only stipulation; "Do not take it out on the Nurburgring."
They actually said that.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
No, second hand, two years old. I think I can see myself buying mostly second hand... that way someone else can deal with those really nast first 18 months of depreciation.Professor Voodoo wrote:Was it a new vehicle that you bought?Alfisti wrote:I realise it's all staged, but it's still nice when you walk into the car dealership half a year after you bought a car there and the first thing that happens is the salesman you dealt with leaves what he was doing to say hi and see how the car is for you.

I find it interesting actually watching how different dealers approach test drives. VW seemingly doesn't want to let you drive their cars and will only do so under duress, Mercedes sits you in the passenger seat, runs you through all the gizmos, then drives you to the end of the test route before allowing you to drive back... BMW hands you the keys and, yeah... says "have fun".Professor Voodoo wrote:I enjoyed a similar experience when I purchased the only new vehicle I ever bought (a 1998 Suzuki TL1000R in Trier, Germany). Was the stipulation required?

Re: What are you happy about right now?
Interesting. Mercedes would probably aggravate me the most. Dealerships always love showing off the silly bells & whistles...cup holders, electronic seats, stereo controls, et cetera. 9/10 times I end up saying "That's ridiculous...can I order the car without that?"Alfisti wrote:

Dealer: Umm...yes...but that's a special order, it costs extra.
Which is why I end up buying used.
Well, I did live only 45 minutes south of the track, and the dealership knew I often took the TL-R up there, so you can't blame them for being cautious...but no, I was pretty respectful of the loaner stuff they gave me.Was the stipulation required?
That said, I know the exact top speed of everything they ever loaned me.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
I haven't run into "it'll cost more", generally "it'll take longer"... That said, buying second hand there's few things on my car I probably wouldn't have specced myself... sunroof (not suitable to our climate, so it's basically permanently closed and blanked) and 19" wheels being prime among them. That said, I wouldn't have specced sat-nav myself, but love having the screen there... not so much because I use the satnav (I like big bits of paper which can be spread over a bonnet and drawn on with pens) but being able to call up my iPhone play-lists and contacts without taking my eyes off the road is fantastic.Professor Voodoo wrote:Interesting. BBC America is running a Sports Relief 2012 special today, intermixing segments from the event last weekend in the UK along with Comic Relief/Sports Relief segments from earlier years, including the Doctor Who 2011 Comic Relief special - "Space" and "Time".
The Doctor: "Pond, put some trousers on."
Brilliant.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
I resisted in-car GPS for a long time (which is odd, because my job involves using GPS to guide ships around). If I take a long road trip I have a small laptop that I fix to the dashboard. Coupled with a GPS receiver, this becomes my nav screen.Alfisti wrote: I wouldn't have specced sat-nav myself, but love having the screen there... not so much because I use the satnav
This past December I found a new use for it. I ran into a snowstorm in the mountains of Pennsylvania...at night. Visibility was not ideal, but if I kept one eye on the nav screen I saw each turn coming up. It was like having a rally co-driver with me, and helped a lot.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
Seriously, if someone would program a GPS to give directions in the style of "easy left, over crest into medium right, double caution" I'd be all over that...Professor Voodoo wrote:This past December I found a new use for it.
