'round the other side of the pond, Top Gear US is set to premiere sometime this fall. While it looks...alright... I just hope that, eventually the hosts compose themselves much better in future episodes.

Started watching Top Gear 4 years ago (with series.... 8 I think). Right now, though, I'm watching from the very beginning (Up to series 4 now) and I can see the beginning of the natural chemistry between Capt. Slow, Jezza, and Hamster slowly forming.

Yes, I didn't really like Jason Dawe so I was glad they dropped him in Series 2 for James May.

I don't think Top Gear really hit it's stride until Series 4. The first three series had shedloads of lame challenges ("Fastest Faith", "Race for the Universe" with sci-fi cosplayers, "Teach Your Grandma to Make a Donut"), but when they launched Series 4 with the first "epic race" - Aston Martin DB9 vs. the Eurostar from London to Monaco - the show took off.

Unfortunately by the teens series, the three had become their parodies. Series 12 was the last great series, IMO, and Series 13 and 14 were painful at times, doubly so because they went to HD broadcast, but loss the cinematography that mades Series 7-10 so amazing.

They admitted they'd lost their way at the end of Series 14 and they seem to have "re-found" themselves with Series 15 (now broadcasting on BBC America), so I hope Series 16 continues the recovery.

Alfisti, in the process of proving that he is in no way, shape or form, Monty... has fractured his foot.

Twenty-three years and I've finally managed to break a bone (not for want of trying either). Off work for about a fortnight which kinda sucks financially but at least gives me four extra days a week to deal with uni work which is, conveniently, due in about a fortnight.

I was able to go fishing for the first time in months - we're having a lovely Indian summer lately and it held out again with a warm and cloudless day, with the trees giving off a blue haze in the distance. Sadly my camera's battery was exhausted so you'll have to take my word for it, but it was a splendid day right to the golden sunset, and we had the Derwent pretty much to ourselves. The fish weren't as active as they could be, but it was pretty steady throughout the day and it was just nice to get out again after being cooped up the entire summer.

I have, through great personal effort, secured a hard to find copy of classic late 80's B-theatre. While I hadn't seen it in at least 20 years Rollerblade Warriors: Taken by Force is just as gloriously bad as I remember.

Hell, I think there's a market out there for an all B-movie channel. Campy 50's space films, teenage slasher flicks, Japanese monster movies, we'll show them all. The rights to these films can't cost anything...hell most of them are probably in the public domain already.
