What choice does Yu have, really? The girls all have deathclocks inside their heads because of their condition ing. Either he invents a 'cure', or they all die, and some of the Generation 1s right soon (I truly believe Silvia's handler euthanized her out of love and pity). If there's no way out for them anyway, why not give them each a dramatic and worthwhile end?

Yu: let some of the girls die in their handlers' arms at least, will you?

He could just end the series on an open-ended note, like how Season One of the anime ended. We get that the girls will die eventually; that doesn't mean we have to see it happen.

Then how would you end it? Suggestion?

To be a little more specific, Yu could've gone for a Calvin and Hobbes type ending. Calvin and Hobbes didn't end with Calvin growing older or passing away or outgrowing Hobbes or anything like that. It just ended with Calvin and Hobbes riding happily off into the snow. An open ending.

Yu still has a chance for that to a certain degree with the remaining characters at this point. Regardless of how he decides to end it I think it will be well done.

We've traveled some from the original topic, friends. Tell me, does anybody wonder what goes on in Angie's head when she's with Marco? How much of their old cameraderie does she still remember, and what do you suppose she thinks happened to it?

Like all other cyborgs, she's in love with him. She is programmed to be his defender and protector, though Marco can defend and protect himself and probably has demonstrated such for her to learn.

She respects him but demands a lot of attention from him since her second rewrite. But she is always by his side to do as he tells her, and do as she must for him, including throwing herself in front of a truck bomb to protect Marco.

Adding on to what Elfen said I think Angelica sometimes sees Marco as a substitute father figure. This would match up with wanting to monopolize his time as young childrren sometimes do.

'In love with him' is a stretch. Not all the cyborgs are 'in love' with their handlers. In fact, I would go so far as to say that only two could qualify in that regard: Elsa and (to a lesser extent) Triela. To Angie, Marco is 'dad', nothing more.

oop just gonna enter this old threat because I thought of something.

since in the anime they kill her off early sitting in the bed, the last thing she mentions is the pasta story. and even though the deteriorating of her mind is making her forget a lot of stuff from conditioning I just suddenly got the thought that for the cyborgs the first memory they got from the agency, would be their last to mention. like hardware deleting till the first file that was created. I know thats not anything canon though it was just a something to pull your heartstrings (it definitely worked for me) its sort of an interesting idea.

That would depend on how they died.

Tirlela's last thoughts are of Rachelle who she thinks is her mom. And Henrietta kept reverting to dreams of the night her family was attached and she was raped and mutilated. Not all their memories fail at the time of death. I'm sure Silvia and Beatrice's last thought were "This is so fucked up..." while Pia's last thoughts were "I was winning..."
