Well certain "conditions" have to be met. Snowfall must last more then three days and accumulations must be over 10cm.

And the reason we didn't use salt was because with all the rain, it washes into the stormdrains and into freshwater lakes and streams, turning them salty.

So it is very unlikely you will need a "salt car" for Winter like NYC and other cities in the Northeast.

the worst part of it the damn snow melted by 2pm ! so i have 2 days worth of work to do tomorrow and more snow forcasted !

Spent last night and this morning building what is now a respectably sized snow fort Comes up to a bit over waist height, so it's pretty decent for holding off the snowballs (especially since it's about 20cm thick XD )

So it snowed again overnight - about a cm or so. It's sunny now so it's melting away, but it did cause a number of accidents this morning, including closing one of the two cross-lake bridges to Seattle.

More snow is expected within the next 48 hours during overnight and again on Friday.

Well, around here, it seems like the Groundhog is a fucking liar, cuz it's damn near spring weather now. It's nice.

The only high point is that it is supposed to be sunny and in the high single digits (Celsius) so maybe some of it will melt. SEA is open, as well, so my flight to NRT is still a go for this afternoon.

I live in Texas and I can't stand it.

I hate humidity too. That's why I'm glad we moved out of Houston. Yulch!

But, here, yesterday the high was almost 80 degrees F. Today, the high was 56 the low being in the mid 30's. That's a 50 degree difference in less than 24 hours.

Humidity sucks. I will only visit the East Coast of the US in February/March. The skies are always clear and sunny when I do, but the humidity is nice and low.

I had to visit San Antonio last June. Truly hell on earth.

My bro lives in houston near a Fry's electronics.....How i envy him he told me yesterday that he was wearing shorts and cranking the airconditionng whlie im here huddled by my space heater of a laptop.

It's 22 degrees Celsius here, and cloudy.

Its about 10C (42F) right now, expecting it to drop to -10C (22F) tonight & tomarrow w/snow coming...

I completely concur with the subject of humidity.

When I got bounced around, I landed in Louisiana for late spring to early summer.

75F never felt so horrible.

It got cold again............. i got sick.......i had ACT prep to drive in the snow............Nature must think ACT prep is wrong so she makes it snow every time yeah thats it.

Right now, we had a pretty big gust of wind blowing around, making the 33F feel like 25. Dang, today was cold, and I can't believe I went downtown to see my mom at a marathon today, standing in that wind for just over 2 hours. Didn't even see her.

actually we sit in the middle of the worlds suicide rate,with 10.4 male commiting suicide per 100,000 people the US is slightly worse with 17.7(the same rate as Luxemborg !) Easy. The United States is divided up into 50 states. You can check the suicide rates per state. That's how I know Alaska has a high suicide rate.

Rain and clouds are gone and it's just glorious sun. They also lifted the snow warning for the weekend - now looks to be rain or even more sun.

Cold with no snow on the ground A bad combination. We are even given the satisfaction of crunching the snow as we walk.

rain ! its usually around this time of year that one side of the city gets cut off from the other by the River flooding,they spent last summer putting in dykes and portable flood barriers so maybe this year we can keep the city together !
