Cold, and I was slammed with 8 inches of snow last night.

Another great "haunted house moon" out there.  

Better looking outside tonight. Sadly, I'm getting more snow dumped on me tomorrow between 1 and 3 inches worth.

Its snow in the midwest I ditched my car the other day while going under 15 mph anybody watching probably thought I drove in on purpose. There was an unfenced cornfield on the other side of the ditch so I had some run up to get out. Just as somebody was stopping to help me I went ahead and drove out and back on the road. Luckily I had the foresight drive an AWD and yes this is pretty normal procedure I've just never ditched a car in the snow before and it surprised me how little control over it I had even at such low speed I must have put my left side wheels into a snow rut or something.

Rain this morning, but now clear and cold this evening.

Comfortable at the moment: sunny with daily highs sitting in the upper 20's/lower 30s... looks like it could be warm for Christmas though.

First snow of the season is falling, however the warm front bringing it will turn it to water by late morning.

After a snow day monday its a comfortable 60F...Weather here is so weird....

Raining and cold

Well, it doesn't look like we'll be getting snow for Christmas either. Rainy and cool. One doesn't dare travel within three blocks of a shopping mall if they want to ever make it home.

I'm sure I've had more perfect summer afternoons in my lifetime, but I honestly cannot think of one right now:


About 28C, sun shining with a cool breeze coming off the river. A drink, a live band playing downbeat jazz, my best mate from high school to chat to and that view to enjoy with it... lazy, lazy Sunday afternoon on the Brisbane River.

Here in Seattle it's been heavy rain for days. Good weather to stay inside next to a fire and catch up on sleep.

It's kind of a White Christmas in Seattle, considering the fog is so thick I can just see white out the window. 

Level Two snow emergency here. I've spent four hours in the past two days shoveling snow and dreaming of retiring to Florida.

Its no snow emergency here but there is already enough on the ground for school to be canceled for tomorrow.       I had two tested planned and I know one class (that drives me nuts) didn't study for it argh

Sat down with scissors today to turn some old pairs of chinos into shorts.

Nice and cool today - I think the high was in the low 50's. Low last night was 29 degrees. Yum!

I actually had to break out my patrol jacket today. Briefly. *grins*

heavy rain, large parts of the country flooding due to rain and storm surges combined with high tides !

1 below zero this morning (minus 18 for you metric types).

Only three months till spring.

I'll probably be heading home direct from Hobbiton - er, Auckland - but if I do continue on to Alice Springs, I don't think I'll be stepping outside the air conditioned comfort of the 787-9 during her fuel and customs stop at BNE on Monday.

It is quite cold now in Siberia :3
On January 1st it was very warm, only -2C.
On January 2nd it became -42C. At this day we went skiing with my family :DDDD
Now it's much warmer, -26C. :з

Fortunately it was in the low 30's when we touched down this afternoon.

Fun conditions out there right now.  It's raining, but the ground (and importantly, road) is still below freezing, so it's turning into wet ice on contact.  This leads to plenty of amusing "traction incidents" in a 6000 lb van.

Another Level 3 snow emergency: can't drive to work tomorrow without risking arrest. My employer called an hour ago and told me not to try. Very generous of them. 

Here in Cali's Central Valley....I just wish the weather would make up it's damned mind already. X(

Well, on the Central Coast (no idea why they call it that - it's nowhere near central ) but the weather is pretty constant here. Only thing changing might be the winds. Is it really moving about over there in the Valley?

Windchills way down in the negatives here (in F), and its barely above zero atm and some snow. 
No school todaythough, the roads flash froze last night.  

It strikes me as incongruous that I am a fair bit cooler in Dubai today than I was in Brisbane yesterday.

Yes, I checked the weather before we left Auckland and saw they were expected after our stop.

Some significant wind gusts blowing through Seattle at the moment. I can hear them rattling the windows. A few hit 60mph / 100kmh.

Well, now it's -32C here. According to weather forecast, it should be -42C next week. 

Freakin' weather can't make up it's mind... I think we're in the mid 60's today (about 18 C or so...).

Maybe I need to move to Siberia?

One of those days I really did not miss the Alfa at all.

Boiling hot in the morning and overnight, then torrential, white-out rain in the afternoon for my drive back from site to the office. Truck roll over on the highway meant taking the back roads and once I got into town I was greeted by the above, as a combination of flash flooding and crashes brought the traffic to a standstill. It took me half an hour to reach the lights in that picture, and another half an hour to get from there the click or so to the office... that includes a good, clean run through the back streets once I reached the other end of the street... where I got to test out the BMW's wading depth (fortunately not that deep, but I'm now wondering if anyone can fit raised diff-breathers to a 1-series), because guess where else was suffering minor flooding.

On the upside, I was intending to work late anyway but, because so many other people were hold up in the office, the pre-contracts manager shouted everyone pizza, which was a win.

Oi! I just shoveled that yesterday!


But anyway, its pretty snowy here:

Clear and sunny in Seattle. Bitterly cold at night, but the stargazing is amazing - all of the constellations just pop against the black.

howling wind, heavy rain, more flood warnings !

Savannah's predicted to have 2" of snow on Wednesday. There are people who are honestly freaking out about this.

Me, I'm just crying about the fact that I'm going to be working that day, and all the wrecks that are going to happen.
