It's surprisingly cool here for central Texas at a frigid 90 °F. I can't wait for July and August where it can get properly warm.

Hope you didn't actually have one pass by you. Never had to deal with them myself, but I had one pass close to campus when I was in undergrad, and I also had a tornado do significant damage to my parent's neighborhood while I was in college. Fortunately our house was spared, but others were completely destroyed.

Power went out the other day due to the storms coming through. My Zorin OS6 PC was a pain in the arse to fix after that. Everything was messed up. Gah. Linux, why you troll me so hard?

Clear blue skies and cold. It was 5C this morning, which probably doesn't sound that bad to most of you from cooler climates, except remember that most buildings in this part of the world are designed with the intention of making sure the heat exits as quickly as physically possible.

The 30 seconds it takes me to get from bed to the shower at 5:30am have been a painful experience of late.

Seriously... I love the South for it's stance on a lot of things, hate it for some other things... what will ultimately get me to leave, doubtless, is the dag-blammit weather!

It's hot, humid, and a high chance for lightning later. Joooooy! Maybe I'll get to direct traffic in it again - that would be AWESOME.

Seriously, last Friday I was directing traffic at a reasonably-busy intersection without my hat, in non-waterproof boots. All I could do was sing and dance, because the alternative would have been to jump in front of one of the semis...

I get that unique & joyful experience at summer PGR funeral events. My boots have gotten hot enough to blister my feet inside, but you don't want to move while rendering honors as the casket passes.

Hm, 95% humidity and 80 °F temperatures sound like what we have here in the early morning, around 6 o'clock or so. Then it climbs to 100 °F (though only roughly 30% humidity, so thank goodness for that).

Been to Texas. Not recently, but it was nice.

But I mean literally it will be 70F one day, 40 and rainy the next, 30F and snowing the third, 45F and sunny on the fourth before going up to 90 the next few days. You just cant win!
