What are you happy about right now?

After lunch with taerkitty tomorrow, I am off to Paris for a week for the 24 Heures du Le Mans and the Paris Air Show.

The flying demonstrators for both Boeing (787-9) and Airbus (A350-900) will be Vietnam Airlines birds. It would be awesome to be able to see the two in formation.

I'll be booking a trip to Las Vegas in the near future.

I dunno what the hell that is, but it looks delicious.

I don't mean to double-post, but I just realized that the first 9 minutes of "Robot Carnival" (opening credits and "Star Angel" title card not included) oddly syncs up pretty damn well with Tool's "Parabol/Parabola".

I think I may have found my next AMV idea.

I have successfully done good. I've finally picked up all of Gunslinger Girl Manga Volumes 1-15, Gunslinger Girl Volumes 1-3+OVA and Il Teatrino.

Basically I have all the Anime and Manga, sans Il Teatrino OVA.

In addition I've nearly finished getting all the Noir Volumes (Volume 4 has yet to be located...).

I've spent a bit of money...last Tuesday:



Rest of the GSG volumes+OVA and a season or two of Noir is in the mail.

Add the fact that I got Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 (and Valkyria Chronicles) makes me a very happy Polos

So I got a job at the IT dept. of my Uni. I'm actually using my new IT account and stuff to type this. I just got all my access and have been doing some on the job training answering phones and such.

Oh, wow. How was it? Is it as beautiful like in the ending of Phantom of the Requiem? Vast rolling grassland and a blue, blue sky?

As for myself, I watched Jurassic World last night. It made me feel young again while also keeping the adult in me entertained.

You know I'll have to finish watching that show now, but yes in the summer there is a vast grassland in the summertime and the sky is very blue.  I swear its like looking at an HD TV sometimes.

The trays oh my gosh never. If i wanted to do some FWD tail dragging, I'd drive back to Canada for some snow. 

Besides, nothing feels fast after you've pushed a bike to its limit, so I don't even bother with cars. They're for comfort, cruising, and staying dry. If I want speed thrills I'll borrow a friends bike.

Having dinner at Wild Ginger before taking in the Seattle Symphony performing a live accompaniment to Disney's Fantasia and Fantasia 2000.

Employed again, which is nice.

It's WACOM CTL-480 Pen tablet, recommended by my friend for me as a beginner.

later on, CI's current requested-drawing in progress could be the last drawing i will made using only a mouse

a mouse still might be better for vector, which is what all your drawings are.

For the first time in a month, the temperature is not in the 90's / 30's.

Just got the result for the drawing contest i attend few weeks back;

from almost 100 contestant around Malaysia, i got 4th place...

Not too bad since i was the only non-chinese winner in the top-6... and i'm actually against pro-artist with 5~7 years experience with only one year experience and mouse+crappy laptop

Finally received it, and currently testing it.... to my surprise, although seems confusing, it only took me 1 minutes to understand the basic mouse control

Well, for a starter-

It's CTL-480 version, which mean this is the basic version. the Touch Pen-tablet; the successor; CTH-480, has touch sensors as an addition to support the tablet pen, though my friend advised me not to buy this because of that feature being a hassle. the model also comes in Medium size. The more expensive version; Intuos Pro (small, medium, or large) has more functionality than the basic one. CTL-480 is the recommended pen tablet for a beginner like me for its price, reliability, and function

the Intuos CTL-480, as far i believe was the refined version of the old Bamboo tablet. Because of its small size, it's pretty ergonomic for me to use in a small desk.

Also, the pad texture resembles plain paper when you stroke on it using your tablet pen, which what i like about this tablet

It is Seafair Weekend so the Blue Angels are practicing for their High Show (since the weather is clear and hot through next week). Their final maneuver is the Diamond Break where they come in low and fast east-to-west across Lake Washington, breaking into separate elements over the Lake.

Last year, they set up their pass about a mile east and north of my place, so they were close, which was awesome.

This year they set up directly over my place.

So I have six F-18s at about 1000 feet doing 500+ knots in a tight turn right over my balcony and then they level off and drop into the valley before popping up over Mercer Island and doing their break.

Needless to say, it's epic.

After seven months of picking it up and dropping it, tearing it to pieces and putting it together and tearing it apart again, the final chapter to my Gen 13 story 'Blind Men and the Elephant' is complete and posted.

Now I can think about something else - like how a dozen cyborgs can search all night for a little girl lost in the woods without finding her...

Congratulations on that. It's always a good feeling being able to sign a story off as done... albeit a slightly empty one as well. Sort of that moment of "that thing that consumed my life is gone, what do I do now?"

Currently on vacay in the Outer Banks. After a day of adventuring among the tourist district in the town of Duck, North Carolina, I'm enjoying the sunset from the third-floor deck of my rented beach house, accessible only by four wheel drive via a nine-mile drive on the beach. Despite the location, it's rather well-equipped, complete with Wi-fi, and I thought I'd jump on for a little while to wave hello.

I smell steaks and fresh-caught seafood on the grill. It doesn't get any better than this.

Survived my first week back in Mongolia including an interesting time horseback riding, and no I wasn't sick this time.  Oh and having some small degree of success on eharmony, not to mention two new single female teachers
