Easy to see what he did in his own slow-mo... Tapped the trigger on the upstroke. this is why it's extremely important to keep that finger out of the trigger guard until the gun clears the body's line, and even then it should still be out until it's on-target.

Ok, so I actually only have a certificate for student of the week, but I think the honor stands. Also, you'll have to write your own name on the certificate. Ink isn't free.

Ahh NINE... they may be utterly useless for news, but they will go there and damn if they aren't entertaining doing it.Kiskaloo wrote:Ah those Aussies...
- Spoiler:
- NINE did the continuous news coverage during the Brisbane flood and, because this was Australia, and everyone was cooped up in their houses with nothing else to do, it became a widly practiced drinking game to take a shot every time a Nine reporter said "inundated". Nine and the Today Show got wind of this... and set out to say "inundated" as many times as physically possible, finishing on "and for all those playing the drinking game: inundated, inundated, inundated."
Some spoil-sports complained and Nine was forced to apologise... which amounted to Carl sitting there on the Today Show going "and remember kids: it's all fun and games till someone gets sclerosis of the liver."

Ok I dunno if this is the place to post this because most people post video's here but I found this link courtesy of @Pyrobooby (AKA Peter Chao the youtube comedian who I also follow on twitter). It made me first feel disgusted, then angry, and then I laughed a bit. After I laughed I felt a twinge of pain on behalf of humanity, and then I laughed again. And hey, I always love a chance to make fun of people who play Halo.

At least it was an SRT8... and FYI, I liked the sensation of making elevenses in a 5.7L HEMI Dodge Magnum... the only downside is that it is probably a bitch to fix, like all MOPAR-type cars I have had to replace a radiator on.

Re: Random Media
While my Madoka/Be Prepared AMV getting C&D'd really hurt my morale and stopped me editing for a number of months, recently I've had a fresh spurt of creativity inspired by the recent announcement of Rebuild of Evangelion 3.0's release date.
An AMV for an anime that's not even out yet - is this a record?
This AMV actually has its origins in a AMV Minis skit of mine, but the idea
took root and grew out to a full-length video. EVA-02 leaping between
the warships, sweeping off its tarpaulin-cloak with a flourish, is
perhaps my favourite single scene in Neon Genesis Evangelion and that certainly helped to cement the theme!
Please enjoy, and any criticisms are always seriously considered.

Death comes to Sesame Street
Nope, this isn't some snarky vid, but an excerpt from one of most poignent and well done explanations of death. Instead of saying that he had moved away, the producers decided to tackle his death head on, and did it well.

That's not funny. Whoever made that is insensitive and doesn't know what happened to Mark. He was in a car accident that required seven hours of surgery on his face. Ever wonder why he looks so different and older from Episode IV to V? I met him at the Star Wars convention and he was the sweetest guy! People who make fun of him because of his face are so cold hearted.

This room is full of people who think the above demotivator is funny:
I say he looks pretty good, considering his age and the injuries he suffered. It took a lot of courage for him to persevere and walk right back into the studio despite getting into such a nasty, potentially career-ruining accident.
Happy belated birthday, Mark!

True Reports from British life ........!!! BRITISH NEWSPAPERS
Commenting on a complaint from a Mr. Arthur Purdey about a large gas bill, a spokesman for North West Gas said, 'We agree it was rather high for the time of year. It's possible Mr. Purdey has been charged for the gas used up during the explosion that destroyed his house.'
(The Daily Telegraph)
Police reveal that a woman arrested for shoplifting had a whole salami in her underwear. When asked why, she said it was because she was missing her Italian boyfriend.
(The Manchester Evening News)
Irish police are being handicapped in a search for a stolen van, because they cannot issue a description. It's a Special Branch vehicle and they don't want the public to know what it looks like.
(The Guardian)
A young girl who was blown out to sea on a set of inflatable teeth was rescued by a man on an inflatable lobster. A coast guard spokesman commented, 'This sort of thing is all too common'.
(The Times)
At the height of the gale, the harbourmaster radioed a coast guard and asked him to estimate the wind speed. He replied he was sorry, but he didn't have a gauge. However, if it was any help, the wind had just blown his Land Rover off the cliff.
( Aberdeen Evening Express)
Mrs. Irene Graham of Thorpe Avenue , Boscombe, delighted the audience with her reminiscence of the German prisoner of war who was sent each week to do her garden. He was repatriated at the end of 1945, she recalled -
'He'd always seemed a nice friendly chap, but when the crocuses came up in the middle of our lawn in February 1946, they spelt out 'Heil Hitler.''

HEARD ON THE LONDON UNDERGOUND TUBE
A list of actual announcements that London Tube train drivers have made to their passengers...
1) 'Ladies and Gentlemen, I do apologize for the delay to your service. I know you're all dying to get home, unless, of course, you happen to be married to my ex-wife, in which case you'll want to cross over to the Westbound and go in the opposite direction.'
2) 'Your delay this evening is caused by the line controller suffering from E & B syndrome: not knowing his elbow from his backside. I'll let you know any further information as soon as I'm given any.'
3) 'Do you want the good news first or the bad news? The good news is that last Friday was my birthday and I hit the town and had a great time. The bad news is that there is a points failure somewhere between Stratford and East Ham, which means we probably won't reach our destination.'
4) 'Ladies and gentlemen, we apologize for the delay, but there is a security alert at Victoria station and we are therefore stuck here for the foreseeable future, so let's take our minds off it and pass some time together. All together now.... 'Ten green bottles, hanging on a wall.....'.'
5) 'We are now travelling through Baker Street ... As you can see, Baker Street is closed. It would have been nice if they had actually told me, so I could tell you earlier, but no, they don't think about things like that'.
6) 'Beggars are operating on this train. Please do NOT encourage these professional beggars. If you have any spare change, please give it to a registered charity. Failing that, give it to me.'
7) During an extremely hot rush hour on the Central Line, the driver announced in a West Indian drawl: 'Step right this way for the sauna, ladies and gentleman... Unfortunately, towels are not provided.'
8) 'Let the passengers off the train FIRST!' (Pause ) 'Oh go on then, stuff yourselves in like sardines, see if I care - I'm going home....'
9) 'Please allow the doors to close. Try not to confuse this with 'Please hold the doors open.' The two are distinct and separate instructions.'
10) 'Please note that the beeping noise coming from the doors means that the doors are about to close. It does not mean throw yourself or your bags into the doors.'
11) 'We can't move off because some idiot has their hand stuck in the door.'
12) 'To the gentleman wearing the long grey coat trying to get on the second carriage -- what part of 'stand clear of the doors' don't you understand?'
13) 'Please move all baggage away from the doors.' (Pause..) 'Please move ALL belongings away from the doors.' (Pause...) 'This is a personal message to the man in the brown suit wearing glasses at the rear of the train: Put the pie down, Four-eyes, and move your bloody golf clubs away from the door before I come down there and shove them up your arse sideways!'
14) 'May I remind all passengers that there is strictly no smoking allowed on any part of the Underground. However, if you are smoking a joint, it's only fair that you pass it round the rest of the carriage

Obama Fried Chicken anyone?! (As usual with Sankaku Complex, I must warn about the presence of NSFW links).
Apparently this is an actual restaurant in Beijing. According the article, Kentucky Fried Chicken has apparently sued for copyright infringement. Barack Obama has so far been unavailable for comment.

Good luck suing a company in a country where copyright law does not exist. And as for Obama, I beg to differ... he made his endorsement perfectly clear.

Apple successfully had the Chinese authorities close down a number of retail outlets that were exact clones of official Apple Stores - right down to the furnishings, outfits (shirts) and ID badges.

Re: Random Media
One of the most striking aspects of End of Evangelion was the song "Komm, Susser Tod" - a peppy song about suicide, skipping along brightly with the unbearable burden of being. It's inspired another AMV from me which I hope evokes a similar mood - hiding the creases of
misery by stretching them out into a mask of a smile through the liveliness of killing.

Nanoha vs Madoka:
Also, speaking of Madoka: the HomuCopter:
Or, Sankaku claims that is Homura, don't known whats with the "19th anniversery" though.
- Spoiler:
- As far as the canon of the two series is concerned, I'm not sure it would work out this way. In StrikerS, Fate said that magic in the Nanoha series is weak against "mass based weapons" such a bullets and missiles, which Homura happens to have plenty of.
