Rarely am I impressed by TV advertising. Even more rarely am I impressed by TV advertising that isn't in some way smart, clever, witty, funny or otherwise amusing.
However, every-so-often someone just gets it so right. Paces it perfectly, crosses all the i's, dots all the t's, lines the ad up with a brand's image and just makes the whole thing hang together so well...
Gotta say it: I like Virgin Australia's new image too. Gone is the budget feel, cheesy grins and "we're hot, young and fun-loving" message. It's now professional and classy but still maintains a fresh and casual overtone. I'll be interested to see what it's like in real life (pity my frequent flyers is with Qantas)...

Mate, this is the Virgin Group we're talking about. They're all about imagery. Remember the new Virgin Atlantic commercial I posted a couple months back?

I've visited the Virgin Clubhouse at JFK (SQ used it for a lounge for their premium class customers), but never flown the airline.

Yeah...um, Avise might want to put some distance between him and the tent before trying that. Or at the very least make sure to confiscate all the girls' hunting knives beforehand. I imagine some of them might respond rather...violently.

Manga Time Kirara magazine is announcing two new manga series to continue K-On! Manga Time Kirara will feature the older main cast’s transition to college and Manga Time Kirara Carat will follow Azusa in her last year of high school. The lighthearted fun will not end! K-ON! Kirara will go on sale April 9th, whilst K-ON! Carat is due to start April 28th.

somethings should not be cosplayed !
when Hana-Saku Iroha anime premiered in Japan ,to the surprise of curious fans, a phone number shown on screen by one of the characters actually connects to a working phone with the main character’s voice responding.
In the beginning scenes of Hana-Saku Iroha, mother of the high school protagonist Ohana shows the name and phone number of Ohana’s new home, the hot spring inn Kissuisō. The phone number of the fictional Kissuisō is 076-235-1168,an actual working number in Toyama, the prefecture where Hana-Saku Iroha’s studio P.A. Works is located.

Re: Random Media
Think you have what it takes to follow in the figurative foot steps of virtual idol Hatsune Miku? Musical band Supercell is holding auditions for a guest vocalist for their third album. Lead composer Ryo has emphasized that the only criteria that matters for the audition is talent and that gender or age are not of concern.
Supercell has risen to fame with their second album songs featuring Hatsune Miku. Their song “The World is Mine” recently reached top 10 on itunes and is used in Toyota’s recent Corolla/Miku commercials.
Other songs have been used in the anime Naruto Shippuden and Cencoroll. Their single “Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari” became the ending theme song for the Bakemonogatari anime. Their second album Today Is a Beautiful Day, ranked #3 on Oricon’s weekly album sales ranking chart in March.
Whomever wins will have big shoes to fill. Hatsune Miku and Nagi are a hard act to follow, but if you have what it takes the audition form is available here.

Re: Random Media
Impressive.
A friend of mine does that art with the paper that is black on top of a white base and you "draw" by removing the black with a chisel, revealing the white background beneath, so the final image is rendered in white against the black.
This technique reminds me of that.
