I would tend to agree, but seeing as how popular (or how popular they seem to be) they haven't exactly "wasted" potential. They're just catering to the pervert market, and as well all know there are a LOT more perverts than manga aficionados.
Besides, everybody (ok, probably not EVERYBODY) loves to look at T & A.
To be honest, drawing naked people is much easier than drawing fully clothed ones. You get to just draw form, not worry about clothing and how it folds or shades, or just designing the damn clothes in the first place.
The thought has crossed my mind to draw some doujins of my own, but since I normally leave my artpad out on my desk when I'm gone, probably not the best thing to keep in public view lest it be stolen or other nasty things.
Hell, I know I'm guilty of having drawn the type of facial expressions that are normally found in such things.

I'm not sure how anyone could find that tripe funny, Sin - it's grotesque at best and obscene at worst. The idiots running that sordid circus are the worst examples of what I call the 'YouTube generation' - a bunch of ill-mannered, buffoonish brats with too much time on their hands, drooling mindlessly over things like chatspeak, Internet memes, pop-culture references, Photoshop jobs, online videos and goodness knows what else. I can bet you all the money in the world to an old tire that virtually none of them have the guts to get out from behind their monitors and voice their crass opinions in person.
If *this* is the future of our world, I'll be moving myself and my family to the wilderness - or Mars - as soon as I can. I'm glad I was young when I was.

I mostly just like the sarcastic articles... such as this one on your mom:
While I agree that the site is a vulgar eyesore, I believe in the right of idiots to create vulgar eyesores (it's a lot less damaging to society than forming religions, anyway). If they didn't have that activity to take up their time, just imagine how much more annoying they'd be... I'd probably be in jail for mass-murder by now!Encyclopedia Dramatica wrote:Your mom is widely used as the end-all-be-all of arguments on the Internets. Those victimized by it automatically lose whatever argument they were engaged in at the time, because they can't think of a more lulz-worthy comment, and therefore, labeled fucking retarded, because nothing they say or do can save them from losing the arguement This is called the Law of your mom. Arguing or failing to accept the, "The Law of your mom", will result in your dick being shuved into a malfunctioning blender. This is called the "Arguing 'your mom' will get your dick shuved into a malfunctioning blender clause", which was instated over a hundred years ago. This often leads to the unwitting destruction of the perpetuator of your mom, as it is a very dangerous weapon indeed. Its power is so great, none can contain it. Sarcasm aside "your mom" is an unfunny and unoriginal insult mainly used by 13 year old hentai fanboys who are being bullied by more lulz-worthy beings.

Re: THE CYBORGS ARE GROWING!
Lol. I just recently posted on this topic.
I know someone said, "That's an interesting theory, one I didn't think about..."
Fact is, it isn't a theory. I read and interpreted what the Japanese are saying, not only on their own wikipedia article, but elsewhere, and this is [partly] how they described it.
The way I discovered this was during research on the second generation of cyborgs (in which, the only heavy information is in Japanese) when I came across some articles on them discussing the differences. It took some cross-references as well as deeper research into the carbon materials being discussed, and fitting some discussions and possibilities we already had (in which it was: "Now this makes perfect sense...").
We have to remember that the term 'cyborg' isn't what we'd think in typical pop culture. To us, 'cyborg' [in pop culture] commonly refers to a person who has mechanical and electronic engineering installed in their flesh (though the original definition stands as correct when referring to the girls).
The 'cyborgs' of Gunslinger Girl have no motors, mechanics, nor any type of machinery. In fact, its a wonder why the translators used the term 'cyborg' or 'machinery' for the words in Japanese refer to them as 'justice bodies'.
That aside, the girls muscles are replaced by carbon fibers, their bones reinforced/replaced by carbon frames. To give you an idea of what's being said, imagine if your bone structure was like a bicycle's frame, and your muscle fibers were thin, steel cables. You can simply imagine your weight and strength potential from this. The girls still retain several of their original flesh tissues (to help connect these non-flesh parts), I'm sure. You can imagine how difficult it would be to try and penatrate such a structured body. This also helps give the girls a natural immunity to certain toxins and disease (As these effect flesh, not carbon frames/fibers).
However, This means that the girl's structure is just about set, which is why the girls don't age very well. Unlike flesh and bones, the wiring and structure in the girls' body does not grow. This is why handlers (according to the Japanese side of things, you can't get this from the American literature) are possibly given two choices.
....One is to reduce the stress on the girl's body at the start by converting her body into a cyborg in its current state of age, or an age not too much older. While this gives the cyborg's new body not so much stress at the beginning, fractures amongst other problems persist as the cyborg grows.
....The second choice is to convert the girl's body into a more mature state of age. While this produces a great deal of stress at the beginning, the cyborg has "breathing room" to "grow into" her new body. This is why Jean said the younger the choice, the better.
Yes, the girls age, but they don't age like we do. Angelica revealed signs of flaws in this engineering when she began to physically break down as she grew up. The girls don't have that long to live because while their bodies are harder or as hard as steel, it doesn't grow with their body, and they will age out of their own body.
The second generation of cyborgs of whom (forget her name, its been awhile) is part of is a test that if the girls are forced to grow unnaturally into an older teenage body (when puberty is already surpassed, instead of the younger cyborgs trying to operate in their bodies during puberty). This was why her handler was so fascinated with her body (there's a scene when he takes close examination of her naked body), mumbling about longer legs, etc. I don't remember what theories I had revolving around the second generation cyborgs either, but if I remember correctly, they were lighter, faster, and had better livability than the other girls.
Whether or not the girls have an artifical heart is interesting. If they did, their heart muscles would no doubt be replaced with carbon frames, making their heart the toughest, most difficult spot to bring harm. If they don't, the girls have carbon frame plating around their ribcage, giving them a breastplate of steel (natural body armor)... but perhaps they even have both, making the common heart-target in a gunfight nearly invincible. Targeting the cranium would simply cause rickochetts most of the time.
The reason I believe the girls are most vulnerable (bodily speaking) in the side (where Angie was hit once by an AK-47 and Claes was stabbed by a knife) is because there is little carbon plating in that area (except what might be installed in the skin), and there aren't too many thick muscles in that area (like in the back). It's a good weakpoint in a knife fight.
I know someone said, "That's an interesting theory, one I didn't think about..."

Yeah, but that's a crazy I'm used to, it's not really, trully crazy anymore.
Crazy's not always bad, though. There is crazy and then there is crazy like a fox. It's hard to wrap your head around the Japanese if your from a western culture. Of course as I'm writing this there's a Japanese person writing something along the lines of:
"Those Europeans are frikin' nuts." or "Americans are just plain insane."

Re: THE CYBORGS ARE GROWING!
The reason its not a theory is because the Japanese can read Volumes 1-9... we can read Vol. 1-4. We can't perceive what their discussing anything past Vol. 5+ because we can't read it.
The reason why what I've posted isn't a theory is because these explainations are clear in volumes above 4, which the Japanese can discuss and post in articles. Obviously, they're going to know more about 2nd Generation cyborgs than we do (where the differences in the two generations gives a lot more info on the 1st).
The Japanese read all the manga, know all the information and much of the sciences discussed in the manga, and then discuss amongst themselves what it has to say, and then post articles on it (I've found more than one reference that supported my beliefs, as well as forums that further discuss these 'theories'). You're saying that their information are theories just as good as ours, despite them having 100% out of 100% of the information while we have 4/9ths the information.
I researched their theories, too, when I read up about carbon fibers and carbon frames (something they were tossing ideas about). Several months ago, I peiced together this information about the cyborgs right as volume 7 came out.
I also found it interesting that the term for the "machineries" or "cyborgs" is correctly interpreted "justice bodies". "Jean's" original name was actually "John", nicknamed "Jan". "Rabello's" interpreted name was misspelled. There's a distinction between "carbon frames" and "carbon fibers"; as well as between "conditioning process", and "conditioning drugs". I found the name of the drug (and the word conditioning was also interpreted differently), and amongst other things, I have since lost the document, and the screwed up FF.net GSG forum won't let me access my post on it.
It might be on my grandparent's laptop.

Re: THE CYBORGS ARE GROWING!
err.. we have 2/3rds of the information (through volume 6), and Totoum has 8/9ths of it (in French). If there's something in volume nine that specifically mentions how the girls age, then it's canon. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, in fact it sounds quite plausible. If it is indeed Yu Aida's word on the matter, so much the better.

It would've been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier if Panzer VI simply asked Yu Aida about it. I think he forgot to.
-Ricco joined the SWA at 11 and was there for 2 years, as stated in Episode 3: Ragazzo.
-Elizabetta was 16 when she became Petrushka; In Vol 6, Chptr 30, pg 90.
- Angie is the oldest cyborg but one of the younger girls of the lot, since she was the first and was cyborg'd at an early age.

About that; i dont even want to count how many times i have been lied too by him, and a person claiming that he was Panzer's brother.
keeping that in mind, i doubt that he even met Aida-sama as he claimed at one point.
Yu Aida meeting a 16 year old fan boy, just so the kid can give his Fan fic to him?
I would say that the chances of that happening are a total zero.
maybe is just a kid wanting to be cool...

I sent Yu a couple e-mails. He apparently hasn't bothered replying.

Re: THE CYBORGS ARE GROWING!
Considering that Yu's anime and manga have been translated into English by ADV Manga and FUNimation, I think it stands to reason that either he or someone closely associated with him must know the language in order to make an agreement with said companies for adaptation/distribution rights and the like. In any event, the English I used was *very* plain and to-the-point.

Re: THE CYBORGS ARE GROWING!
well i can base that point of mine in one simple thing.
If you see the translations of ADV, would you say they are good or crap compaired to our own?
Because the way i look at it, if Aida-sama really could understand english, then i believe that the translations would be a whole lot better...

Re: THE CYBORGS ARE GROWING!
Just, because someone translated his anime, doesn't mean someone translates his email. How much time does he have to answer email anyway? Sure maybe he could spit out automatic responses to everyone, but I doubt he has the time, or money to reply to every email he receives. Besides some artists just plan old don't like to hand out answers.

Maybe he got bored to answer 100 e-mail everyday
And he is too lazy to erase his e-mail from the blog, even though I hope that I am wrong...

Yeah I'm with Alados on this one. Maybe this will help, there is developer commentary for Portal. In which one of the big developers says here's my email if you want to leave input about the game. Input. I'm willing to bet how Mr. Yu Aida treats his mail from his blog. He's trying to get a sense of how people feel about his work. You can't honestly expect him to reply to all the email he gets. It would be a job unto itself, if not several. He isn't you, or me. He gets to much email to be able to respond like that.

Re: THE CYBORGS ARE GROWING!
Um... just a question - if the cyborgs aren't physically capable of growing... why does Triela's hair keep growing? Her body appears to capable of producing new cells of its own... perhaps this has something to do with the fact that her hair is from her "old body", whereas the cybernetic implants, while accepted by, are still "unnatural"... Random thought - do they have bone marrow? My "unnatural" idea would be shot down if they were able to keep producing blood cells in cybernetic implants.
