It certainly would explain them, yes...and the kaleidoscope...eventually he'll be buying her diamonds and Fabergé eggs just to keep her from making her gun brilliant pink.

As cute as I find these, I don't think I'd ever want to walk around with one because how can anyone take you seriously when you carry a pink gun? Or is that the point?

I was actually refering to a story about a guy who was in the process of robbing a house and was caught by the elderly owner of the house. The old lady shot at him with a shotgun (and missed on purpose), robber freaked out, jumped through the sliding rear door/window and cut his leg as he ran away.
A few days later, the guy came back, slapping the old lady in the face with a lawsuit... and won... around $250,000 or more...

Unfortunately stories like these are all too frequent. The one I heard was in the middle of the day. Two young guys busted into an old man's apartment thinking he wasn't there, but when they noticed that he was they just ignored him (I don't remember the exact age, but the man was a grandfatehr - really old) and started carying his stuff out. The old man stabbed one of them with a bayonet, got sued, and lost. Just like the story above... it's sad. Just the fact of young guys robing grampas, and old lady's is pretty infuriating, but when you add the deal with the lawsut; thatt's just fucked up.

A law should be passed that bars criminals or their families from suing - perhaps even one that slaps extra penalties on them for having the cheek to sue.

Suing only works if someone has assets to lose to you. A majority of people who steal from individuals do so because they believe they're incapable of making ends meet any other way... so if ya sue 'em, you really don't get anything except a bill for court fees, lawyer, et cetera. That would be another reason they wanna sue the person they were trying to rob... it's just another form of robbery.

findings on entry wound on the robber's back and exit wound on the middle torso will land you a manslaughter charge. (believe it or not) It's unlawful to shoot a fleeing burglar because by then you cannot justify imminent danger to your life. Not only that, I've seen a case back at the old campus where a student who was mugged decided to chase the mugger, "teach him a lesson," and get his wallet back. He was charged with assault and battery.
Trust me, in the great US of A, the crooks are afforded more rights than the law abiding citizen. In the 3rd world countries I'm sure it could be a whole different matter.
I've always thought of planting two to the the spine/heart/lung and one to the gray matter, then shoot sporadically and have the alibi of (3) lucky shots. Unfortunately, a sharp lawyer will look into your background and training. It's ironic, but the higher training you have, the more you're expected to solve the situation peacefully. This is called preclusion ie. an old granny placing two to the head can get a way with it, whereas a firearm instructor, 20 years special-ops vet etc. cannot.
The best solution of all is avoid-fu and learn to be the gray-man. I;m not saying you should not stand up when a fellow man is in trouble, but when it comes to yourselves: Give no sh*t, take no sh*t, suffer no sh*t.
If you or anyone is interested in the whole self-defense matter, I recommend you to go no further than to peruse this site:

Re: gun nut thread
It's meant to replace the M16 among all guns! 6.8 mm that's practically one good shot one bad kill!

It doesn't appear to be selective-fire, though - is that link for the civilian version?

still, I'd take the 6.5 Grendel over it. the SPC seems to fall short a bit past 200m. Both are a bit too small for the one-shot one-kill philosophy, though.

Re: gun nut thread
With the US military being such a large potential customer, one should expect such a thing to occur. Since technology has not progressed to the point where significant gains can be made with a radically different design many suitors of the US military will instead try to offer a slightly better product that requires the minimum of change - competing on price primarily since they're all going to be offering similarly effective improvements on the current in-service design.Wileama wrote:man there seem to be more flavors of M-16 now a days then there are Ice Cream...
