I'm pleased to see this forum isn't skidish about sexuality in this series. This is hardly relevant to the task at hand but the fanfiction I'm working on, I intend to use metaphor to express budding feelings of love, longing and such. I also intend to explore themes of abuse and guilt associated with such (mostly in the sense of the cyborgification of the girls and their handler's feelings about it).

Mind you it is only there to serve the purpose of making a statement at society's conniving and contradictory views on the subject.

I prefer not to talk about the Henrietta incident. that one was a test of the limits of the site I made when I joined. I think I will have to burry that in a box labeled hamdingers. no one would ever look for it there

Only a true Gunslinger Girl Fan would have seen and known about the Pre 2000 editions of Gunslinger Girl. In those few issues, the girls were abused and sexed up or rape (according to one's POV). Also, much of the GsG Hentai out there was also created by a person named JewlwBox, showing more elicit relationships between handlers and cyborgs. Now this puts the blame of offense on Yu Aida (aka JewelBox- see the connection here? Since he made it, and allowed others to make more, this becomes canon.). What you did was to offend the ladies here. Note the difference.

But back to that point of the Pre 2000 editions. It showed that the girls were literally slaves. It also showed their capabilities (Like when Jose was removing deformed rounds from Henrietta's back with a pair of pliers!). It existed then. During the story since, the handlers did what they wanted to their girls and it would be looked the other way. This happened with Luaro, through V1 and the first season Amine, hints were dropped as to how great they were but something happened to Elsa for her to ventilate his brain. Conditioning follows and she kills herself. Question is why? She was abused in some form for her to lash out like that.

Now with Allesandro, here we have an agent who would make love to a chicken if the government agency he was under told him to seduce it and get any Padania information it so gave. Giving him a teen aged cyborg, he would hop in that as soon as he could. Only hint that they did anything was Petra telling the other cyborgs about their 'special relationship.' You ask any girl from 16 - 21 about defining a special relationship, and they will tell you its a sexual one. Thus this hints the possibility of it happen though many will deny it. Denial is a river in Egypt, I say.

I tend to avoid GsG doujins, so I don't know anything about the guy's art style, but are you suggesting that JewlwBox is Aida?

Ermmmm AKA means "Also Known As" so yeah he is. I've seen the majority of the GSG Hentai stuff along with previous works like bittersweet fools. They mirror Aida's GSG style so much that it cant be another artist cranking them out.

We had a picture of Ferro in her lingerie floating around here, and it was extremely similar as well.

Yu Aida and Jewel Box are the one and the same.

Many of the original GsG Hentai and Doujins were created by him, some with both names on the works. The GsG Italia 2007 Jewelbox, is signed Jewel Box, but is known as Yu's work. And GsG Hentai and Doujins done by others and published, were recognized by Jewel Box, Yu Aida or both. I say in him doing so, makes this ancient Hentai and Doujins material as canon as the rest of the GsG universe.

I guess the reality of it is that most mangaka start out with doujin and less respectable works.

Nacht, Spartan, if it were not for a coupe of 'chapters' in the Doujins, and the covers actually saying "Gunslinger Girl...", I would agree. Three chapters comes to comes to mind; unfortunately the laptop that had them was stolen, Angie's Origin story is on one of the works, showing her father running her over with a Mercedes, and getting arrested. Heniretta's Origin is also in the works, I believe in the same book. Lastly, Henrietta running away with Jose and "Little Petra" hunting them down is a prelude to the Gunslinger Girl Game CDs with the "Fratello On The Run" mission. Throwing a couple more to the fire - a picture of Silvia (I believe) is on one of the Doujins, with Triela sleeping next to her. Pictures of "Angel Angie" seems to say that she would the first to die in the series, and may have been killed off then if it were not the repackaging of the material for a larger audience.

Its canon because Yu has recycled this material again and again, it was done by his hand, and sold by him with his approval and made money off it. Many authors have repackaged earlier works once they became famous, I can see Yu doing this, and from this evidence, has.
