Medical scare on my end... (3/26/15)
Woke up so fucked up, tingling on right hand and foot, similar symptoms of a stroke. After eating breakfast, things were not improving, so I sent myself to the hospital.

Lots of test and blood drawn. All say that I'm OK. Nothing wrong with me. But there will be a follow up with Neurology next week.

I feel a lot better now than I did earlier today. Maybe I dodged a bullet today, I can't say. Just count my lucky stars and thank the god I pray to and nothing more.

At least it's (relatively) good luck this time. Hope your follow-up is dull and boring and a waste of time - in the nicest possible way

So, nothing like having spent Friday and Saturday occasionally in stress-induced tears thanks to the fact that I have had to act as intermediary between my mother and father regarding a matter of property and money back in the Philippines. Certain papers are not being signed which a property group would very much like to have despite the fact that my father signed something they wanted over a year ago that should have been all they needed. Main concern is that to sign this form after the previous one can easily be interpreted as fraud, but apparently "Things work differently in the Philippines" and so for various reasons I've been caught up in this nonsense in addition to the various problems and frustrations I already deal with. It would be complete nonsense and I wouldn't care as much if it weren't for the fact that a fraction of the money from the success of this deal would be enough to send me to a technical college in the fall.

TL;DR I hate family-related drama that involves money and a refusal to communicate.

I hope she manages to get through this stretch of hospitalization and post-operation procedures just fine--no, even better than when she went in. Having loved ones in the hospital is really stressful, so I wish the best of luck to her, to you, and your family as well, Taer.

Trying to get a post out for the camping trip thread (with almost no time to post, myself), plus family problems, and the pressure to get a job - I'm really getting irritated and stressed out right now.

TaerKitty-- Hope everything goes better on your end. Positive vibes going your way.

TG-- Take things one step at a time, and I'm sure there'll be a whole lot less stress. Real Life takes precedence anyway.



On another note, I suppose now is a good a time as any to change the dressing on my foot, which suffered a toe fracture and laceration last night at approx. 3 AM local time. Hospital visit and three stitches by one Dr. Mazda (who ironically didn't seem the sort of fellow who enjoys backroad soujourns in an MX-5).

Doctors sometimes have funny names. There used to be a partnership in town of Doctors Payne, Stiff & Croke.

 My urologist's name, no joke, is Dick Tapper.

He named his son Peter.

Quick update - we're all home and stuffed from Easter Brunch.  SpouseKitty is on the mend - still sore, still weak, but better than yesterday, which was better than the day before.  Thanks for all the good wishes.  We're all sleep deprived and touchy (had an almost-argument with her over something very minor yesterday) but we're  home and hopefully trying to get things closer to normal, whatever that means.

Oh, and the laundry is getting under control.

As for me, A friend of mine died last night. He went in Emergency with a high fever and walking pneumonia at about midnight. By 4AM, he had a cardiac arrest and could not be brought back. The End.

His family is really broken up about this, he was young, mid 40s I believe. So I'm doing all the things a friend can do to help out. Funeral arrangements are still pending so I won't know details until they happen.

Like I said in the chat earlier when I came in, "It happens. Well celebrate his death at the funeral."

"I believe death is to be celebrated as the departed goes onto the next stage in their spiritual life. For me, give me a New Orleans Jazz Funeral, and the dancing girls and all the rum that can be brought in!"

But at the same time, I was helping out, I stayed out in the rain for most of the day, and may have caught something. I'll take the usual over the counter stuff and home remedies. If it gets worst in a couple of days, I will turn my self into emergency and get it looked at.

Lets hope for the best here. I'll be around when I can.

Woke up this morning. Had a good start. Talked witha Alfisti about the camping thread, got an email for my college updating me on a few things. Watched an episode of Love Live while getting ready for school. And promptly rushed because I forgot that today is Wednesday...aka Activity Day at school...so I was 10 minutes earlier than usual. (Had a good laugh at that).

Went and worked out in weight training and had an awesome (painful) workout with a close buddy of mine.

Thrn went to English. Hungout with friends before and kinda felt odd, but figured it was workout. So as we settled in to watch a documentary for background knowledge on the book we're starting (The Things They Carried) I quickly deduced that what I was feeling wAs not my abs. (Vietnam in HD is really good btw)

After slipping away from my seat in the back row, I asked the teacher if I was allowed to go to the Clinic. She said yes.

So I made my nauseated way down the hallway. Now it takes about 2-3 minutes to reach the bathroom from the class I was in. Clinic is centralized in the school, but I was far away and the route there is like a massive U.

Needless to say I ducked into the bathroom at the end of the hall. Threw up all over the toilet and another student (who was going to use the bathroom) went and got the Vice-Principle...who walked me down and called the Janitor... 

Now I'm home in a cold sweat and shivering...and thinking this morning didn't go so well...

I know how you feel, Polo. I'm not 100% either right now but I'll take the 65% I have now, at least that's a passing grade - barely. Chills, fever, and so on. When you get better, get a can of chicken soup into your belly. And later on, a bottle of Gatoraide to replace the electrolytes you threw up. And rest, plenty of rest.

The flu season is starting in earnest, fellas. Take precautions, and take care. We're all busy people, and sometimes neglect ourselves.

Polos, I hope you're feeling a lot better now compared to this morning. Same to you, Elfen.

For me it's worst than that, Scarred. Because of severe hayfever I have, it can become an Upper Respiratory Infection of a Sinus Infection. So depending on the symptoms in a day or two, I'll go to Emergency and get some antibiotics and I'll be fine in a few days or so.

Yeah, Polo, I'm getting better. Not 100% but I'll take the 92% I have now!

Yesterday as I was getting off work, I got a call from a neighbor in Indiana telling me that a tree had fallen on my little summer place. The photos he took sent me on a 2-hour journey straight from work.

The outbuildings are okay, but my little retreat is beyond repair. I have another place nearby, and no doubt a new one will go up in its place eventually, but I'm going to miss those five mornings this summer that I was planning to spend at the dining table with my laptop, gazing downhill at the crops and the deer as I wrote.

Truly unfortunate, TSM. At least no one was inside when it happened.

Indeed, as long as no one got hurt, and it's only property damage, one can always move on. Still, sorry to read it occurred in the first place.

Don't think I've been more terrified in my life.

We had a "Advanced Drill" at school today.

We got ordered into lockdown. It happens from time to time so, doesn't concern us. We drill once a month. We followed the drill: Doors locked, Lights off, blinds shut, huddle in corner and play on phones while murmuring how stupid it is and how much stuff needs done (for Journalism class anyway).

That was until they ordered the middle school to evacuate immediately.

We froze, looked at each other and started a part of the drill we never do: Barricade and arm.

We piled cabinets and desks in front of the doors. Grabbed anything we could use as a weapon. Scissors, heavy objects, etc. (I grabbed a coffee pot...)

Full on Fight or Flight mode. High wired and scared. I wanted to cry. I think I know what a bunny feels when a fox is digging at its den. We were strategizing how we'd deal with an intruder.

Then we got an all clear.

Coming off adrenaline sucks btw.

We restacked the desks and timidly went back to classes.

Students had panic attacks, there are desks and chairs out of place. Lots of people are scared and high wired.

This honestly has been the worst day of school I have ever had. I'm still trying to calm myself and the event has been over for about half an hour.

Sorry for this long post, needed to ramble and complain a bit.

Sorry to hear that polos I never worked at a school that did advanced drills.  And your complaints and feelings are valid and are the big problem of the whole drill system.  We need to do them so students know what to d, but it drives them crazy or they end up not giving a shit since it's always a drill.  In your schools case I think they done goofed.  Hope the rest of the day goes ok.

I hate when they do that.  I've had a few where they didn't tell the teachers, but the admins response is to make so everyone takes it seriously.  Gotta love school administrations.

Somebody vandalized with the fire extinguisher glass tonight - somebody caught him, I called the police...and he got away just when I was talking to them. Luckily, a police car came by and I told the officers what happened, what the guy who vandalized looked like, etc.

I am so scared right now. Hopefully they'll catch the guy and I can never speak of this again.

Hope things are OK Topgear. Calling the police was the right thing to do.

As for me...

On May 5 & 6, I went in for radiation treatment to kill of my thyroid so i can be taken off all my meds (some 18 pills) and be put onto 1 for life. Then I was supposed to see the Endocrinologist on 5/14 for the medicine change. All these appointments were scheduled.

BUT THE #$@$#@%$ FEMALE DOG OF A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL WENT ON VACATION!!!

I cant see her until June 4, the earliest. And there is no one to take her place.

So my blood pressure us through the roof and my heart is racing because of this. But I figured out a few things to improve my condition, but they have their problems too. Hot sauce - slows down the heart and lowers blood pressure, but it also wrecks my stomach. And "if it's hot going in, it's going to be hot coming out!" And I'm not taking about weak ass Tabasco sauce either!

So I'm taking my time and resting as much as possible to get things relaxed until I see my doc. And I'm bringing my lawyer with me when I do. I just got to hold out until then.

What kind of medical professional doesn't arrange for someone for their patients to see in case of emergencies? Sounds like an ethics violation. If this act of neglect leads to permanent harm or even serious hardship, it also sounds actionable, which I'm sure you've considered.

I hope everything works out TopGear and the person gets apprehended.
Elfen, I hope your Endocrinologist helps you competently and without any further delays.

My therapist evaluated my current state of mind the other day. She used "I'm worried" and "depressed" in the same sentence. 

.....Uh oh.

Diagnosed with Bronchitis and Pneumonia. Doc says my lungs look terrible on the X-Rays. Its starting to hurt and getting harder to breath.

Did I mention I have my Graduation ceremony and party tomorrow?

Medical Update - 6/1/15:
The life of a Mr. G. is short and hard. Its end is always fast and violent. But I want to live! I want to continue on! I want those things in life others have! There is not reason why I should burn out so young!

Thus it is my reaction when my doctor reviewed my recent tests and updated medical scans when he looked at the screen and said "Oh Shit."

My heart is getting stronger, it is healing. There is still no plague in the cardio-arteries either. I am healing. But my blood is getting worse, it is not oxygenating as it normally should. Thus I'm showing symptoms of heart failure that is not there - the body is starving for oxygen. Oxygen Therapy will not work - as it is my blood not taking it, not that my lungs are not breathing it in. Thus my healing is a very slow process.

It's the result of the poison, it is still in my system, hiding in the fat cells. When the fat cells are used, more poison is released and the blood - oxygen levels drop.

I try to exercise to lose the weight but that is a dangerous prospect because it will release more poison at once. And with the low O2 in the blood, I tire out. I can walk long distances when I take it slow, but I cant run. If I ride my bike, I can only do 5 blocks before I need to stop and breath heavy for long time. I swear.

But live I must, and I will heal. With every tick of the clock, and Mistress Death knocking on my door, I will open it and give that bitch another date she will never forget. It seems the she had forgotten the last 3 times that I left her in that hotel room the following morning after of a long night of ____________! She aint taking me yet without a long fight first!

SpouseKitty goes in for the PET/CT scan to see if we can find where her cancer has gone (this time.)  We'll know the results in a week.

I've been in a bit of a funk as of late. Things I usually enjoy don't seem to do it for me as much, I get discouraged much more easily, and I can't remember a time where I didn't feel worn out. I have to drag myself to get work done at my job, my boss even pointed out how sluggish I've been recently. It's also negatively affected my writing, whenever I give it a go I just stare at a word document for five minutes before minimizing the window and doing something else. 

My therapist theorized that I'm just exhausted from everything that's happened since March. I've moved out on my own, helped my mother move after she sold the house I grew up in for seventeen years, and my litter sister graduated high school. If it's not that, then my job might be draining me....which is bad. I'm worried I may have just resigned to being stuck with a job I detest. 

My family's been checking on me ever since I told them what my therapist told me (see above). We've had two others go through something like this before, so I guess my recent behavior raised some red flags to them. Though I think I could do without my mother coming over to my apartment and cleaning everything she sees....

 I've been trying some things to break the gloomy monotony. Hopefully this won't last too long and I can get back to writing soon.

Try drinking a 3:1 solution of water and hydrogen peroxide respectively. Hydrogen peroxide (h2o4) oxygenates water (h2o) making it into heavy water (food grade) (h3o5).

The hydrogen may thin your blood a little, but the oxygen hydrate will more or less force your blood to accept the oxygen during digestion. At least in theory.

As for the poison in your fat cells, a green-protein/low carb(i.e old-fashioned Atkins) diet may the most ideal way as you'll burn the fat off steadily as opposed to quickly and all at once.

I wish I had more for you, but that's the best I got so far. Hoipe you're recovery is a swift but safe one.
