I think they get stock in a cybernetics corporation. I think it is a limited compensation package, though it has free medical care.taerKitty wrote:I know they get room, board, and really, really good medical, but I don't remember any compensation package. Do they get stock options? Or do they get paid in 9mm?
Life insurance policy is pretty nice. So there is that too.

As a handler, I'd be more interested in a life assurance policy...

Remember, a life insurance policy isn't for the one who dies, but for the ones who live.

Ouch, Taer... Yeah, hearing about a broken rib is bad enough for those of us not experiencing the pain. Seeing the actual break in the bone puts it all into even greater perspective.
But, yeah... I agree with Alfi here, but I recommend the carbon fiber instead. It's much, much lighter. And have the docs do all the ribs at once, as well as any other bones they can get to, just for the sake of efficiency.

Re: Boo-boos and Owies
Wednesday, I tripped over a plastic crate, and hit my eye pretty hard on the corner of a cabinet. I ended up getting a swollen black eye that hasn't swollen down until now.
Good news is it's still healing and the swelling is going down. Bad news - the discoloration may remain for a few days longer.
Teaches me to put away dishes while walking in darkness, blind as a bat.

TBH, there wasn't much pain after the impact, just a lot of dull feeling. XDPolosElite23 wrote:Lol, hope the eye feels better.
But not to worry; I did say to my friends that the eye would be back to normal by the end of Spring Break - seems it's going to be earlier than that for the swelling.
Also, Arby's has a way of stuffing you up, eh?

The ideal service time for any eatery (and I do mean ANY eatery) is 10-15 minutes. Any longer and you might want to check to see if you got the right order. Any sooner and you might want to give your food a once over.

Well shit, I'm basically screwed then. Mongolian food service is typically insanely slow about 45min to an hour to get your food at a restaurant. In the off chance it comes fast, it comes insanely fast. Delivery is even worse, if you want to eat at 8 you better order your food 2-3 hours earlier.
FYI- the food does taste really good though.... aaaahhhhhhhh Indian food....... Kebabs....... oh so good...... dam it now I'm hungry again......

That's just an American thing CI. Everywhere else in the world, times vary.
IE, in the UK where if you don't get your kippers & chips in less than 2 minutes, they're messing up.
I've been to OZ, I've been to the UK, and I even went to the Bahamas once(didn't like it).

Saw a YouTube vid of this camera crew going around to all the fast-food places, ordering items and comparing them to the pictures in the advertising. Then calling the manager out and, with the camera in his face, asking, "Can you make us one like the picture?"
I think one out of five actually did a credible job of it.

Honestly, the only burger place (fast food variety, "gourmet" and independents not withstanding) I've found which consistently delivers food as advertised in the photos is MOS Burger.Thescarredman wrote:Saw a YouTube vid of this camera crew going around to all the fast-food places, ordering items and comparing them to the pictures in the advertising. Actually, the Japanese owned/style chains tend to do a pretty good job in general. Beyond that though...

Medical scare on my end... (3/26/15)
Woke up so fucked up, tingling on right hand and foot, similar symptoms of a stroke. After eating breakfast, things were not improving, so I sent myself to the hospital.
Lots of test and blood drawn. All say that I'm OK. Nothing wrong with me. But there will be a follow up with Neurology next week.
I feel a lot better now than I did earlier today. Maybe I dodged a bullet today, I can't say. Just count my lucky stars and thank the god I pray to and nothing more.

I hope the neurology tests are good as well, Elfen. Here's wishing for everything to work out fine.

Re: Boo-boos and Owies
So, nothing like having spent Friday and Saturday occasionally in stress-induced tears thanks to the fact that I have had to act as intermediary between my mother and father regarding a matter of property and money back in the Philippines. Certain papers are not being signed which a property group would very much like to have despite the fact that my father signed something they wanted over a year ago that should have been all they needed. Main concern is that to sign this form after the previous one can easily be interpreted as fraud, but apparently "Things work differently in the Philippines" and so for various reasons I've been caught up in this nonsense in addition to the various problems and frustrations I already deal with. It would be complete nonsense and I wouldn't care as much if it weren't for the fact that a fraction of the money from the success of this deal would be enough to send me to a technical college in the fall.
TL;DR I hate family-related drama that involves money and a refusal to communicate.
