Strike Witches Alternate...

Well Seeing as this series's universe is so popular to be played with... Imma make this thread for those stuff.

To start it off.. heres a darker more Apocalyptic version of the Universe... (Maybe the Neuroi pulled of a D-Day and did the world in)

Yoshika has Touched another Neuroi... and now look what has happened

They're working now, thanks. And mind-blowing.

Man, the girls are BEAT. Looks like they've been fighting for a long time against overwhelming odds. I'd like to see an actual story based on these images. Wonder what those scribbled pentagrams on their Striker units mean.

This would make for a fantastic explanation, and an amazing way to take the story in a new direction. Once the Neuroi are beaten, what happens when said dark powers come demanding payment for assistance offered?

Never heard of Yukikaze, but I do give Strike Witches props for some darn good aerial combat animation.

I might be one of the few people here who has actually seen Battle Fairy Yukikaze. Interesting comparison. The Neuroi from Strike Witches do sort of resemble the JAM. However Strike Witches never really properly revealed the motives of the Neuroi (at least in animated form). The show doesn't really take it's plot and story anywhere near as seriously as Yukikaze does -Yukikaze is a far more serious show than Strike Witches. Strike Witches is more concerned with panty shots and throwing in references to historical aces and events. It probably went overboard on the former.

As for air combat sequences, Strike Witches does have some decent ones but there are better series out there if that's your main concern. Laughing

(Those of you who are familiar with my tastes in anime can probably guess what my recommendations in that regard would be.)

Yeah, Yukikaze was Serious with a capital "S", but it was a show which I think suited that as well. And there was afterall the super silly oneshot "Mave-chan" that came after.

You, Piero, MP5 and several others gave it a Thumbs Down for being a Fanboy Panty Fest. In fact (not you, Kisk) much of the others claimed that is was nothing more than a droolfest and would watch it for no other reason than that.

There are some good things and bad things about the series. More so in fanfiction.

There are some good things and bad things about the series. More so in fanfiction.

There's a difference between criticizing a specific aspect of something and giving the overall product a thumbs down. Even today I still think the anime version of Strike Witches went overboard with the fan service. I have loosened up a bit about it but I still got a shock when these fan projects convinced me to rewatch the actual anime and I got a reminder about just how excessive the fan service in the original actually was. (I am often rather amused by fan service, but the Strike Witches anime took it to the point where it was actually kind of creepy at times.)

Strike Witches is a 24/7 pantyfest, except for the 2 scenes which one was a group bath and the other was a stolen panty chase, OC. Hawt!

The lack of pants and skirts was ridiculous, but I learned to just ignore it after a while. It still prevents me from regarding Strike Witches as anything more than a guilty pleasure, though. If and when I do start my foray into SW fan material, I'll omit the pantyshots entirely and concentrate on making things more serious.

Looking more on the anime, Strike Witches actually reminds me of one of my favorite shooters, Strikers 1945. Mostly because of its blend with World War II planes and high-tech weapons. Watch this to see more:

Someone needs to do a fanfic covering !Achtung!s original post pics, how things got so royally sent to hell, how they deal with the aftermath, ect ect.

though I do find it awesomely in character that even with everything gone to hell in the first posts pics that Luccini and Hartman are still grinning. Very Happy

Sorry to change the subject, but concerning the thing about them not wearing an pants, there is a legitimate reason. you see, the striker units require full skin contact to function properly, and having to remove ones pants everytime they sortie would be ineficient and possibly endanger the mission, thus, no pants, ever. as far as every other girl that isn't a witch not wearing pants, basically they saw the witches without pants and thought, "Ooh, they're cool, I'm going to try and be like them!" I found this while cruising Wikpedia, so thank whomever wrote it there.

On the subject of showing a pair of panties every thirty seconds, I agree, it was proabably done a bit too often.

Back to what was being discussed. the masses demand a fanfic:cheers:

Just went and looked at the one of Sanya and Shirly again, and realised that Sanya had a pair of miniguns attached to her strikers and an AK and a RPG on her back. As using a rocket launcher called the 'flying hammer' wasn't enough reaon to consider her a badass. Fer firepower must be equal to one CNRHK (Chuck Norris Round House Kick)

Thats an awful lot of power... normally it takes at least three certified Grade AA Badasses to hit that mark... haha
