Speaking about Wikipedia

I think all the Wiki type website has the common mistake. The mistake that let the users edited their contents freely. And sometimes we know this rule ruin the wiki itself.



In my opinion,all the wiki Admin should consider about set the rule that you can upload or write the contents but you can't edited or delete that contents without permission.



Only qualified user can edit inside wiki with maturity and responsibility.

I don't think this makes sense as a rule.

Wikis are analagous to open source software that's developed by the community. The more minds you put to a task, the better it can be.
But with open source, some random person can't just walk up and change it, for those changes to then be released to the general public - there's a project lead who approves code.
That's more like what a wiki would need imo, a few people reviewing edits before they go in, but for the most part free access.

Wikipedia in particular has thousands of mods that monitor all changes made to the articles. People who complain about this have obviously never tried to edit a wiki with something obviously false, because it will likely get reverted in less than a minute. If you're a bit more crafty and type something that might sound true on a relatively unimportant article, it might go for a while, but in any given article there is a long citations section. If you're unsure about the information given, you can always use that to back it up.

The problem is that you would need an insane amount of admins and moderators to screen every single piece of information that comes in and make sure it's factually correct. If you post something stupid, the community will be the first to call you out on it, and that's the beauty of it. Wikis need community involvement, or they will fail, that's sort of the point of a wiki, be it Wikipedia or some obscure fan wiki for a specific set of video games.

One advantage that Wikipedia has also is that outside certain new or historically-related articles, it also tends to attract the interest of dedicated pursuers over casual amateurs and so the lack of expert input isn't as much of a problem as your college lecturer might make out. You can expect there to be plenty of inadequate reporting and misinformation on the article about the Libyan Civil War, but is any troll even going to know about Glottal Consonants, let alone give a rat's ass about falsifying it?
