Not in a coffee shop, but I did some writing in the United Airlines International First Class Lounge in Chicago O'Hare this morning, so does that count?

If writing while commuting by train counts, then yes

Draft, sometimes.
Real thing, never. Usually paper comes as a brainstorming material before getting discarded later. Helps on plot development, character development, events that should take place, events that should not, etc.
Paper's good...very good. Still, attempts to draw things on paper FAIL

The only thing I use(d) paper for was to jot down story ideas, but I now do that on my iPhone so I can email them to myself.

Re: Have you ever write your fanfic in.......
I almost always write my stories on paper first. I just perfer it for one, but my brother loves to kick me off my computer, so it helps with that. Life After Death is my only fanfiction that is written straight on the computer. Original fiction is pretty much the same way, as I've only got two stories out of at least five (with others still waiting to be written), that went straight to the computer.
I usually end up writing in the comfort of my own home, but I do lug my notebooks around (I've got two five subjects with story ideas and a three subject for drawings) incase I feel the need to write when I'm out.

I hate writing, as compared to typing it is (for some reason that I don't know) incredibly boring... :(

I use my laptops for everything... almost.
My desktop is mostly used for scanning or doing server stuff and experimenting with code.

I do all of my chapter notes and basic story ideas on paper. Have for years. I have 3/4 size 5 star notebook that I write in. Most, if not all of my draft writing I do at work, between patrols.

Not so much writing, but definately drawing. Pencil work for the comic I tend to do at home where I've got references and a script, but for inking and effectively just tracing over stuff... cafe's just brilliant. Hand the girl a $20 and tell them to bring you one an hour

I write out character notes and chapter ideas on paper as well as my general out line...However, I have a habit of losing stuff so I tend to end up rewriting my notes multiple times.

Re: Have you ever write your fanfic in.......
I get most of my writing done at work, aboard ship. At home I'm distracted by numerous other concerns, but on the boats all there is to do is eat, work, sleep...and write.
My best brainstorming is done while driving. I once drove 6 hours of boring interstate highway alone without even touching the radio because I was thoroughly entertained constructing story ideas in my head.
As far as paper goes, I went through my fair share back when I was in school, but that was because there was no such thing as a laptop PC yet. Once laptops became useful & affordable I never looked back.
