I do actually get the reference. Italians are much more expressive than the fratello pairs seen in the cannon. However its brilliant consider they are probably still a little unnerved by the situation and wouldn't be as close to their cyborg.

(Also don't forget that GSG is made in Japan so some of the cultural adittudes would be adjusted for that audience anyway)

By Western standards, the Japanese tend to be very formal and standoffish. Italians on the other hand tend to be comfortable showing their emotions both verbally and physically. Even though the manga/anime are set in Italy, there’s still that cold Japanese edge to it that you can never really get around. It would be interesting to see how different the story would have felt if written by a native Italian.

most likely it would have more vibrancy, a thicker plot and probably more jokes... they're weren't hardly if any jokes in the anime so it makes it feel a bit depressing >.< and also, i was watching Stephen Hawking great design: the meaning of life and it was talking about reality. and it took the situation into little with this little girl and she looked EXACTLY LIKE HENRIETTA IF SHE WERE REAL. same hair style,headband, colors, everything it was scary. and when the police took her fish she biked after dem bitches cause that was her damn fish and she was gonna bust up them police.
