Gunslinger Girl OC Savyna by ~KalasRaven on deviantART

I created Savyna a while ago and I never created a design that fit her while keeping with Gunslinger Girl's style. Finally after all this time I FINALLY came up with this.

Savyna is a British 11 year old. A small plane containing her and her family crashed as they were leaving Italy on their way home from vacation. She was the only survivor of the crash. The Social Welfare Agency picked her up and they made her into a cyborg, saving her from death.

Savyna is a very nice person, and tries hard to please her handler, Alex. Being new, Savyna isn't that experienced so she looks to the other girls, mostly Triela for guidance. She loves music and is fascinated with dinosaurs. (She asks her handler to get dinosaur related things for rewards and christmas presents.) Her conditioning is such that she isn't in love with her handler like Henrietta, but she isn't defiant like Triela. She has devotion and respect for her handler, but has a clear mind if asked to do something she knows is wrong. (She wouldn't have shot Emilio like Rico for example.)

Her clothes are casual in this picture. When she goes out on a mission she usually wears comfortable shorts for easy movement a shirt and combat boots.

I HAD to put dinosaurs in there. I suppose Savyna is who I would be if I were a cyborg. ^_^

It's ok, all the guys I end up drawing end up being young looking bishounen as well.

Probably some side effect of only drawing females - I'm sure you'll do fine, so hurry up and show us.

Looks good mate. From a critical standpoint Triela's head should probably extend back a bit more, and cut in toward her face higher up. I don't know what your skull's like, but if I feel the back of mine it doesn't really start to cut in across the top of my scalp till an inch or so above my eyeline. Add the bulk of hair ontop of that and...

Still, sweet stuff. Dino shirt's kinda cute too.

Thanks Alfisti. I knew some of the things where wrong halfway through coloring it, so i couldn't go back. I hate when that happens. -_-;;

Yeah. I know I'm really slow with my OC, but put my homework and my real original characters from my own comics above this. I hope to finalize her handler soon.

I know that feeling, I hate that feeling. It's like when you look up and realise you've been working on the wrong layer of Photoshop for half an hour. But because you've been a good little illustrator and saved regularly there's nothing you can do about it.

Seem's Like a lot of Artistic Hands have worked again, YAY. First theres ebitemp, Then Me, then Tremec and Triela, Ill Probably take another month before I get a new one out but this is quite nice!

I know I don't update this that often, and you guys still don't know much about her, but I still wasn't happy with my design for Savyna. I'm getting better with character design and wanted to do a complete overhaul on her design. I kept some stuff, but she looks like a who different person now, also one that I'm proud of.



I gave her a softer look, more innocent. I think I might rewrite some of her characteristics as well. She looks kinda shy.

Savyna actually got a one-liner mention in one of my stories (hope you don't mind).
From episode six...

He was not the only adult agency member in the dining hall, but there were far fewer than there had been at lunch. By contrast there seemed to be many more cyborgs present for the evening meal. That was just an illusion though...there were still the same number of cyborgs, but at lunch they had only been stopping in to grab a quick bite and rush off to their afternoon training. Now that the day was over they lingered sociably over dinner, some going for seconds, all chattering with their friends. Elio was lucky to find an empty table.

Marisa had been part of a group listening to Savyna dissertate on the various distinguishing features of ceratopsian dinosaurs, but she excused herself when she noticed her handler sit down. This was nothing abnormal, and was not considered discourteous among the cyborg girls, all of whom would have done the same upon seeing their beloved handler.

Cool art Triela, as always. Savyna's expression looks very interesting. My take is like she's exhibiting a cautious smile.
EDIT: Just wanted to mention the cool Avatar Triela!

I have finally done it! A character design that I want to stick with. I absolutely adore it!!! I'll have to rewrite Savyna's personality. I have ideas for her handler too!

This look is better than the innocent look. She gives off a spunky vibe, which I like.

It took me 5 years (drew this in 2017) to draw Savyna again. XDDD Quick sketch, obviously.

Now, that is something of a long time between drinks.

Great to see Savyna again though. I know you said it's just a sketch, but it's also cool looking at how far your work has come along in the intervening time. Looks good.

Does this mean we can expect to see a revival?

Just realized I never officially posted my handler on here!! After 11 years, he has finally arrived in all his glory on Cyborg Central! XD

Meet Iain!

(Sorry for the messy pic, I hate drawing on tablets!!!)

He's pretty young, at the most 25. The very first day on the job he walked in with bright pink and green hair just to spite Jean, as he saw no where in his contract that he couldn't have unnatural hair colors. (His real color is light blonde) Iain is gay, but he hasn't made a movie on any of the other handlers, as he doesn't mix office work and romance.

He takes his job seriously, much like the other handlers. On his off time he likes to spend time going to clubs and having fun. He often hangs around the SWA after hours and brings a projector to the cafeteria so he and all the cyborgs can watch a horror movie.

He's very nice to Savyna and often forgets that she's a cyborg, treating her like a normal little girl, even on missions when they travel. He resents the fact that he has to condition Savyna, so he does it as little as possible. He picks out all her outfits to make her as cute as possible. Savyna's dinosaur plush is the only thing that was salvaged from her past. Iain gave it to her as a gift, but Savyna has no memory of it prior to her conditioning.

Sometimes working quick and messy isn't a bad thing, sometimes it's just what a picture needs.

Sounds like hard worker and a good guy, though I'm guessing another one not entirely comfortable with the SWA operates? Out of curiosity, what's his background (professionally)?
