Twintails are often considered to look childish, so I think a lot of girls avoid them as they get older in order to appear more mature.

Essentially yeah. Like a suprising number of things it looks good in anime... but utterly retarded in real life on anyone over the age of 5 TRIELAS PONYTAILS Icon_razz

Funny, I think I saw some of those in relation to a news article or something covering a disappearance. Some European girl went missing in Morocco or something and there were people who assumed they'd seen her when they'd just seen one of the locals. Someone following the story made it a point to point out that some of those sorts of features crop up in the local populations of that area (probably trying to correct the ignorance of some Europeans and such about the issue).

Wonder how the pictures eventually ended up where you found them...

I think Jean keeps Rico in boys' clothes because he doesn't want any reminders of Enrica. Jose had Etta's hair cut short for the same reason, methinks.

Or he had it cut to remind him of Enrica when she was younger. In that one flashback scene with a young Enrica, she looked exactly like a younger Henrietta.

Good point. Long hair may have been too much a reminder of how she looked when she died.
