From what I can understand, Ernst is a Padania infiltrator. The game is a bit hard to translate without the furigana helping me.

Ernst was a Padania infiltrator. If I remember correctly, Ernst was trying to return to Padania to hand over information regarding the SWA and their affairs. Henrietta is there to stop him, hunt him, and end his days as a fratello.

...Ernst in the end got himself too attached to Pia...which is romantic...

sooo in the end the Pia x Ernest debate ends and both Nacht (who thought that Ernest was Padania) and I (who thought that Ernest was attached to Pia) were right???
