Ghost Stories?

Halloween was not started in the United States, but the US commercialized it to an art form.  In Italy, the holidays around the time of the harvest are not ones of fright even though they do center the departed.

That said, it's fast becoming the season of ghosts and witches here in the States, and I'm curious to see what things of a Halloween nature you think will frighten our juvenile assassins.

It could be them sitting in the common room after one or more have watched a so-called horror film.  They mock it, criticize it, but then the words slowly shift toward ones with intent to scare their fellows.  They start telling ghost stories, or accounts gleaned from the Internet.  Some attempts are laughable (creepypasta, anyone), while others do make one or more wish they could sleep in their handlers' dormitories.

So, anyone think of any ideas?

Maybe a girl might have seen an object move from the corner of her eye during the conversation that takes place after the movie. Speculation as to what might have caused the object in question to shift position if only a bit may none the less spawn far-fetched explanations like possibly the souls of the enemy vanquished in battle returning to haunt and exact revenge might unnerve a few.

Triela lived one in the Dolomites Mountains.

Kara likes John Carpenter's horror movies. She probably does check her six a bit more often when in a fog bank.

And while she ended up with the French, my other OC - Noël Tachibana - was quite afraid of ghosts.

Some members of the SWA are already haunted by ghosts...

poor Jose and Jean, they see a ghost, yet they act 'natural' in many ways :P:P

Considering how good Henrietta was with a knife in the first series anime with the waiter, I put ten Quatloos on the little girl.

But it IS Jose that Henrietta is up against here...She may be unable to do anything about it, frozen in shock perhaps. then there's the conditioning...

Jokes aside, given that the girls in canon have feelings (Deja vu? A chill running up the spine?) and hallucinations from their repressed memories, it wouldn't surprise me if some of them believed in ghosts as a means of explaining this, just as 'love' is used to explain their conditioned loyalty.  So if one of them saw the ghost of a dead girl or handler, it would actually be the memory of someone who's been wiped from their mind.

Good story ideas, all.  It's too subjective to hold a 'contest', but do you all want to each write a 'GsG Ghost Story' and we call it an anthology?

Ahh, Mister Skull, we knew him well. Great tale indeed, I like it too.
Maybe what we need is an experienced Ghost Tracker Crew to assist the cyborg girls every now and then on cases dealing with the supernatural....

Ten bucks says Hajime gets the business end of Triela's shotty the first time he hits on her!

Yeah, considering his pension for peeking at girl's panties and then making less-than-respectful remarks, ghosts might the least of his worries.

As the stormy night rages on, a few in the darkened room are clearly spooked by the tales shared between the group while a few others do better at the task of hiding their fright. However, one is tasked by the Section 2 handlers to assure that their wards got into no mischief.

"Do you have any ghost stories sensei?" Jay asked looking to one Alpha Lautani.
"Nope," Alpha answered after taking a sip of his drink. "I don't believe in ghosts."
"But onii-san you've been around the world at least twice," Kara stated looking to Alpha. "Surely you have some scary tales to tell."
"And how would you know where I've been nee-chan?" Alpha asked eying Kara intently.
"I...snuck a look at you frequent flyer balance the last time I was over," Kara answered with a sheepish grin.
"Hmm...I see."
"Well...if you can't do it..." said one Frederich Koch.

Glaring at the German boy who ired him so, Alpha took one more swig of his drink before leaning toward the group.

"While I don't subscribe any belief in the paranormal nor the supernatural, I will say that I have been a witness to a few strange occurrences."
"Strange you say?" Allison muttered as she reached around Jay, pulling herself closer to him. "Do tell us more Mr. Lautani."
"In fact, one event in particular sticks out. When I was working as night security at the Cathedral in Beziers..."
"Why would an internationally renown mercenary be doing security work for a church?" Laine asked.
"I was not nationally, let alone internationally, renown at the time. I just off of my contract with ISS and would take whatever job came my way. This was just one of them."
"Oi, a bit rough go of it then aye?" Crystal chimed in.
"And then some," Alpha said continuing, "now, the report said that the building was undergoing cleaning and partial renovation, but materials were disappearing overnight amongst other things."
"Things like...?" Claes inquired.
"That is all was stated in the request. So that is all I knew...at the time. At least until that one night I spent in the spire."

Looking around, Alpha quickly noticed that he had their undivided attention.

Indeed! Count me in as one of those listening intently. 
 
Also, I was re-reading Nacht's tale, ahh, it has not lost any of it's appeal I can say.
