@PE - Gaming headsets are very high quality. I bet music must sound great on it. If you've the time, check out Two Steps from Hell.

So, my case with getting in the Army Officially stands as "Under Review"
My DQ Letter earlier wasn't a PDQ, but a "Hey, you didn't pass MEPS, so you got DQ'd, now go panic" letter.
Thanks for the clarity guys... *sigh*
Anyways, this means we're doing okay atm.

Usually parked somewhere near work. Normally I consider personalised plates to be a bit of a wank/waste of money, but I'll pay this, it gives me a giggle every time I walk by.
Presumably whoever owns it gets someone else to drive while they ride around standing out of the sunroof.

I just took a beautiful girl for a motorcycle ride, and the best part is, she held on reeaal tight ;D
Second from the left, white tank top
She's into bikes and cars. Thought she was like 18-19, but she's 23 lol. We're going on another ride possibly before Christmas. My bike is a fantastic wing man.
Wish me luck, boys. Wish me luck.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
A wild i8 appears!
Bar an i3 (couldn't get a picture) running around, this is the first BMW i-car I've seen outside the showroom and yes, it is privately registered.
It's probably quite difficult to overstate how much I hope the whole "i" sub-brand works for BMW, not just because of the huge investment they've made into it, but in the hope that, if it works out for BMW, perhaps other mainstream brands will sit up, take notice and start taking the whole electric-car thing seriously... rather than just half-arsedly shoe-horning an electric or hybrid powertrain into an existing chassis built on existing technology.
Is it the answer? No, but it's a great stepping stone.
And yes, people are buying them, and that makes me happy.

I'm actually not certain how I feel about this. The three current series covered the length of the manga, so they'd be creating material from scratch... which can go one of two ways.Kiskaloo wrote:A new Aria anime has evidently been green-lit and the originals are getting a release on Blu-ray in Japan.

I have total faith in Junichi Sato as a director and Reiko Yoshida not only handled the scripts for the original three series, but has also handled the writing for many other shows I absolutely adore.
As such, I am 100% content.

In other vehicle related news: found my car keys. Loosing them I could deal with, it's annoying, but that sort of thing happens and there's no use crying over it. That someone may have had keys to my car however... that I was having issues with.
Things I learned by using the spare key for a week:
1) If you have a routine designed to prevent you losing stuff, and you don't have a reason to change it, then don't. If you, when switching cars, for example, always put the keys for the one being switched out in a specific place, then don't decide you can get away with leaving them in your pocket this one time... from where they can slide out and wind up in the seat-back tilt mechanism.
2) BMW ties certain driver settings to the fob, though the information itself is presumably stored in the car itself. These are things such as seat memory, radio station pre-sets, whether you use DRLs or not, etc... and, if you've set up to use the radio buttons as speed dial: your frequently used contacts and numbers.
3) The dealer doesn't wipe these when selling the car on. If BMW are doing it, then it's a fair bet others are too, so make sure to scrub this stuff off before trading in.
4) Having someone else's settings in your car is really weird. Seriously, it was like driving with a ghost in a vehicle that wasn't mine anymore, and I didn't like that one bit.
5) Whoever the car's previous owner was had someone called "Mr T" in their contacts. They also had a supremely odd driving position and terrible taste in radio stations. Some of that, combined with the state the car was in when I test-drove it, makes me believe they were probably the stereotypical "bought it for the badge" owner.
Either way: yay, it feels like mine again.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
I think a lot of people have "Mr. T" in their contacts. I know I do. If your name starts with t and I know you well enough; oh look, mr. t is calling me!
I can only imagine driving a car setup for someone else. I've never experienced it, but I imagine its like when I ride my friends motorcycles. Everything is shifted ever so slightly away from where I have it. Uncomfortable.
Glad you found your keys.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
Setting up a sweet A/V system for my in-laws. Mother-in-law was bothered by the spaghetti behind her old AV system, and the fact that even a Logitech Harmony smart remote didn't fully implement one-button task switching, such as going from watching cable to Blu-ray to Netflix.
She was also bothered that father-in-law signed them up for a cable package that came out to slightly over $300(!) USD a month.
I helped them become a cable-cutting family. I purchased an Intel Core i3 Alienware SteamBox PC, a USB Blu-ray drive, and a pretty sweet soundbar. I also split the SPDIF optical audio out into two - one to the soundbar, and the other to a PCM-to analog converter, which in turn split the signal to two Bluetooth transmitter.
Mother-in-law is starting to lose her hearing, so setting them up with BT headsets allows her to raise the volume without blasting my father-in-law, nor annoy the neighbors.
(Then again, she doesn't get along with her upstairs neighbor, who is the chairman of the HOA board, so this might have been viewed as a feature.
Lastly, all the spaghetti involved with all this magic is stashed in the box the Alienware PE came in, and the cables to-and-from the PC are all zip-tied into one central nervous system.
They're out of the house celebrating their 50th anniversary, so I'm just imagining the delight in their expression when they come home. This gives me a smile.
(Thanks for indulging my bragging.)

I met up with Thescarredman yesterday in Punta Gorda. We had lunch!
He's on the right, obviously.

Re: What are you happy about right now?
I didn't know anything about him other than his age, but when he stepped out of his truck with a breaking bad shirt on, I thought "yeah this guy is going to be just as awesome as I imagined."
He speaks in the same way he types, and that's just a little thing but it was neat to experience. If he lived in Florida, I'd visit him and his wife every chance I got. Great people.
Sorry for talking about you like you're not here TSM
Also; now I read all of his posts in his voice. bliss.
