A season 3 would only be acceptable if it were done by a worthy studio. Then again, we would have three different seasons by three different studios. I think that would be a first.

In the meantime, thanks for the warm welcome. I'm spreading the Gunslinger Girl word amongst my few friends, so that includes the folks over at USMilVets.com. Any of y'all are welcome there, just know it's a bunch of military active duty and retirees and Vets so an anti- American/anti-military attitude won't be welcome.

So what's allowed pic and language-wise? I wanna play by the rules, but I'm used to salty language and some.... how shall we say.... taseteful displays of female attributes.

And to answer the favorite girl question, I like 'em all, but for different reasons.

Henrietta, She's the most symbolic of the girls and their purpose, harmless looking, and tear into ya. Steal your heart away with sweetness.

Triela, Up close and personal. Get in your face. Refined. Caring of the other girls. Problem solver. Beautiful.

Angelica, Heart wrenching I kid you not. From how she came to be at the agency, to her daily struggles, almost constant injuries, and I tell you one thing, Marco better be glad he finally came around. (thanks to Henrietta) I was ready to reach through the screen and slap some sense into him. And at the end of Stella Cadente, I was no kidding crying because Angelica died with Marco finally at her side, finally at peace, listening to beautiful music, watching a meteor shower. I know she just went to sleep, but still. That's my favorite episode.

Rico, Her joy of life? However twisted or limited her life may be, she's thankful and optimistic all the time. Outstanding at the job. Get some, Rico!

Claes, Well, I guess she's my least favorite, but she's the constant for all the other girls. There for advice, support, or to jack them up if needed.

First up, welcome to the forum... if you're looking for a season 3, talk to Robert Frazer, I think he controls the "lets fund a season 3 ourselves" kitty.

Regards language and the like... I'm not sure if there's any hard and fast rules (ask the admins really), be aware that we have members who are still minors so keep that in mind. While no-one seems to mind if the odd swearword slips out, as far as I can tell it's generally kept to a minimum.

No, I was an Aviation Electronics Technician. Or, in keeping with the revelry between MOS's, "Easyonics Tricknician Extraordinairre".

USMC '77-'97. 6316/8511. Worked on VC-118's, C-131, OV-10's, CH-53's, also Aerial Gunner, and KC-130's. Sea service on USS Guadalcanal, USS Nassau, HMS Fearless, and USS Independence, (which didn't count).
Two years as a Drill Instructor at MCRD San Diego. Got to do a demo for a bunch of military VIP's from Thailand. Obstacle course, Pugil Sticks, Confidence Course and rappelling. They acted like it was cool as all get out.

Anyways, sounds good so far around here. I'm actually impressed at the number of folks that are taking the time to welcome me.

That particular installment hasn't been adapted into anime form yet. It's still print-only.

SSgtRobertMorris, and everyone else, lets tone it down a bit and accept what we are here.

As for minors, we try not to have them, though they do sneak on. When we find out, they are kicked out. No one here should be younger than 17years of age (as per the Software's TOS Agreement). But it happens and we wait and see how they deal with it. Mature people in mind and body are welcomed to stay. Immature people get kicked out.

Anything else? Enjoy the forum. And remember, this is an international community, what we may not agree to do with ourselves, others will do to each other. You may not like it, respect it or understand it; if its that bad for you, ignore it.

And with this, lets not pick on each other. I will be the first one to press the ban button. I dont want to do that. So lets be happy, lets keep each other happy and make me happy and I wont press this shiny red ban button!

As for me, as Voodoo said I'm manager of the "Bankroll GSG Season 3 Fund". I'd say it'd cost about one and half to two million dollars to commission, produce, market and distribute a high-end series. The fund currently has assets amounting to, let's see... *checks wallet* ...about thirty bucks after conversion, a receipt from Costa Coffee, my HMV loyalty card, and an old-money florin that's no longer legal tender. Some of the voice talent is local here, too.

I don't really think that any of us could just rock up to reception and ask to see the management gushing like fanboys that we've got a great idea for an anime - we'd be out on our ear in seconds. Funimation have independently produced some shows, but they're all tie-ins associated with big properties in America (e.g. the Dante's Inferno OVA accompanying the recent videogame, or the upcoming animated version of TV's Supernatural). We'd need a number of named investors organised into a production committee, a business schedule, contact with key staff to be contracted, a series synopsis and development plan, and of course interest from the actual copyright holders in Japan.

Basically, if we want to actually realise a third season of Gunslinger Girl, we'd best start seducing New England heiresses. It's a tough, stern job, but such is my selfless commitment to the cause that I'll willingly take a hit for the team here.

So, what are you dragging your feet for?

Yeah, sometimes not even having an insane amount of investment money can persuade people to do what they want. At this point I'm not even sure I would want a 3rd season, unless there was some larger plan to finish the rest of the series, which is not at all likely. Otherwise it will just be another 13 episode season of unknowable quality for a story that most of us already know that would just end with more story in front of it.

A live action adaptation, however, would be a much more interesting concept for me at least.

Which MAW were you with? My father, back in the day, was in 2 MAW (VMF-221 and VMF-421, working on Phantoms). I was with K Bty 4/14, then with 2nd BTO Co, 4th LSB, in the 4th MSSG... or whatever they're calling that these days... If I can shed a few pounds, I'll be hanging up my badge to go back to it. You know, because I'm dumb that way. *grins*

I did all 4 Wings, and 2 years as a DI. KC-130's, VC-118, C-131, CH-53A, OV-10A&D, and a passing aquaintence with F/A-18 and F-4...M? N? Not sure about that one. VMFA-112, NAS Dallas. Just helped out when they needed help. Was right next door with HMH-777/772. MOS 6316/8511.

I like the TV series (season 1 only) a lot more than the manga for various reasons, so you might not be missing out too much. They're still worth reading for obvious reasons.

If Season 3 is anything like 2, we're better off without it. That said, to make an actual decent (i.e. great) season 3 we would need:
A) several million dollars to throw around
B) rights to use GSG
C) Studio Madhouse onbaord
D) Aida as far away from this production as possible

All from my highly biased perspective, of course. I like to dream that I would somehow accomplish A, but I can't seem to possibly envision doing any of the other three. Oh well.

Wellllllll..... I get my real estate ventures back on track "A" won't be a problem.
