Those are some nice lego models! I wouldn't even know where to begin.
I can't help but ask this: approximately how many lego pieces does it require to build either gun?

nah, it took me about 4 hours to build the G36C.
2 hours for the Deagle.

Whatface wrote:Hahaha! Thats an idea! Maybe Tommy can write up an instructions manual for herNachtsider wrote:Muffin should have a Lego G36 in her room.
that would be near impossible its so complex, that even I have a slight problem with the construction.
ThanksSakura wrote:Those are some nice lego models!
The most logical starting point is thinking about what weapon you want to build, as far as construction goes, you start with building your pistol grip with trigger. after which you do a slight amount of body, and a bit of stock, then doing the magazine holder is the next important thing. and its pretty much easy saling from there. as the trigger, pistol grip and magazine slot are the hardest.Sakura wrote:I wouldn't even know where to begin.
Sakura wrote:I can't help but ask this: approximately how many lego pieces does it require to build either gun?
Now thats a tough one. i got no clue on the G36C, but I am geussing about 250 bricks for the Deagle there?
I made a Baretta 93R last time around. Still working on the small detail though. but I could count the amount of that one. just give me a while to count them though
and I'll post photo's later on when I am happy with it.

It snaps back too.
whats a gun with out being able to slam in a mag and cock it?
If you couldn't do that, they it would've been the same as just getting the outlining of the weapon made out of wood.

You know what's really cool? Try scrolling through those 4-5 intial pictures of you posing with the M16 loading and cocking the gun quickly. It almost feels like the screenshots come together.

Well, If you look at the internals of the Cocking mechanism, I can actual pull back and release, because of the elastic in there
earlier versions of Rifles that I made didn't have that. I mean, my first G36 rifle didn't have that, it was a pull back and push forward deal.
not a days, I can build rifles that have a pull back and release system.
the desert eagle had that as well on the slide, but sadly all the smaller guns dont really have an open space for me to build that system in.
I got to be honest though, that Sig 230 was the hardest I made yet.
mainly because of the notion "The smaller the gun, the more difficult the build."
Then again, with bigger guns, I'll need more parts. I had made one hell of a large gun back in the days, it took nearly all my lego's.
It was kinda like a small shoulder mounted Arty gun. but the gun was so heavy that it did have a tendency to collapse under its own weight.
so I guess by hearing that, you'll know that there are quite a few limitations with what I can do with the Lego bricks.
Anyway, next on the list is the FN P90 requested by Sintendo and Nachtsider.
after that, I'll build the FAMAS requested by West Nile.
The FAMAS will also be the gun for the next "Part Count Contest."

Yeah, that is one gun I'll never be able to recreate properly, heck I am even of the opinion that the Sig 230 was way to high to actually look good. but it was already a hell to cramp something that looked like a hammer into the design.
rusty-spring wrote:That M-16 is awesome. Boggles my mind to think of someone building it out of legos.
Well, better hang on to your seats then, because next up is an FN P90 and a FAMAS.
If you want to get me to try and build a certain Weapon out of Lego's, feel free to ask. First comes first serves rule though...
Oh, and as a note: you have a bigger chance of me actually doing it, if the gun in question isn't such a little fucker. Also, revolvers are impossible to do as well.
just keep that in mind when you do make a request.

Whatface wrote:Oh, so the previous guns couldn't do that...
Yeah, the only hand gun sized model to have it so far was the desert eagle. the one featured here.
as for Rifles. the G36C, which is also featured here was one of the first rifles to have that feature.
Reason being is that I couldn't figure out how to make it work properly. every time the parts would be to tight by just a nanometer, and the elastic wasn't powerful enough to have any affect for the last bit. as some parts, namely the older parts i have, get a tendency to fit together too well, resulting in to much friction then I want.
Anyway, Work started on the FN P90 dunno when it will be done though...

More reason to appreciate what you're able to do. Seriously, it's impressive that you're able to turn legos into gun replicas. That takes mad skills! Give me some legos and I'd probably build it into a cube and roll it down the hill XDTommygunner70 wrote:I got to be honest though, that Sig 230 was the hardest I made yet.

Sorry Awinnell, I still have to say Impossible.
There are terms to indicate what I mean.
My designs are "Functional Model's", Pull the trigger, remove the magazine, cock the gun.
And you have the "Show pretties", it looks good, but you cant pull a trigger or pull a cocking handle with out breaking something. That revolver is a "Show Pretty".
I mean, I can sling my model handguns around like a wild cowboy (heck I can even do that with the larger rifles, like the G36C and M16 I made.) with out breaking a single part off of the main body. That show pretty revolver however, has "I'm fragile" written all over it.
Looking at the parts used for the trigger guard, which are basically three black leg parts for Lego people, I just know that those cant even keep the weight of the whole design up in the air for over a nanosecond.
Which is why I don't do "Show pretties". I want to be able to sling my models around as if they were real without breaking parts off of it.
More over, I can allready see that the barrel of that show pretty cant even stand up to being moved suddenly either, there is no way to securely fasten those bricks unless you want to glue them together.

I'd rather say that it takes a keen eye for detail. and some brains as well.Sakura wrote:Seriously, it's impressive that you're able to turn legos into gun replicas. That takes mad skills!
that can be fun, though it would be a shame to dirty the Lego's.Sakura wrote:Give me some legos and I'd probably build it into a cube and roll it down the hill XD

Yeah, other guys as well I beleive, because its a gun that earned its reputation In Henrietta's arms
Sakura wrote:Do a pose with it too when you finish it. The pose with the M16 was cool!
Alright, I will then.
BTW: those gloves I wore back then weren't for show. The skin on my hands is pretty much ripping its self to shreds from all the logging stuff around for the move.
but I guess they do add a coolness factor to the overall view.
and also, one thing Sintendo likes to stress: "Trigger finger discipline!!!"
Its best to have it maintained at all times, even when handling a gun replica of any kind.
