Gunslinger Girl pilot chapter

I heard that the first draft of Gunslinger Girl was originally a porno comic (under a different name?) which ended in the proto-Jose character and the proto-Henrietta character escaping the Agency.
Does anyone know or have heard anything about this?

You're thinking of Bittersweet Fools which was an H-game that Yu Aida served as character designer for.

Gunslinger Girl (as "Gun Slinger Girl", with the separated word) did start off as a doujinshi by Yu though, before it was formally commisioned - that version did have sex scenes in it.

I never kept a copy of the doujinshi version myself (I wouldn't dare have it on my hard-drive when I'm on a university server) but here's some art of doujin-era Petrushka. I remember her having a gunfight with Henrietta, Henrietta getting rather scuffed and battered, and Jose tending to her wounds, leading to you-know-what.

I do have (somewhere) the edition of Gunslinger Girl doujinshi, but it is basically the same exact story and characters as in Bittersweet Fools. I dont have it on my hard drive, but in a pile of cd's. I'll see about uploading the file when I find it.

Unlike Rob's version in this image shot which seems to have been translated, mine is still in its orginal Japanese. Not knowing the language, I thought the Claes character was indeed Claes.

Of that series/issue, I do remember two things from it:
1) Henrietta had a long scar running down her chest and abdomen, probably from her cyborg process.
2) Layer of bullet proofing be be extensive that she took several shots from "Claes/Petrushka"; only to have the bullets penetrate the skin and not past it on her back. "Claes/Petruska" also took the blask from a grenade at close range to save her handler with little damage done to her.

So does anyone have any scans from the issue/chapter that they can put on? I'm curious to see what the artwork was like from it.
Also, any ideas as to when this thing was made? I'm gonna guess 2002.

BTW- Internet Research seems to suggest that Yu Aida's doushi name is Jewel Box. I have seen this reference in both the art work and in comments on the internet.

Verified the following:
Three separate Gunslinger Girl CD were released around 2001 and 2002. I used to have all three, now I have 1, the first one; though I have backups stashed away somewhere- I cant find them for the moment.

The Gunslinger Girl Promo CD #0 (the first) is mostly about the Manga released volumes 1 & 2. But when one goes through the CD and check out the details it has to offer, it does show the 1998 - 2000 mangas that were released which includes the characters Petrushka and from the looks of it- Silvia. Sadly, it also showed Idle Talk as part of the Yu Aida's Published Gunslinger Girl collection; Idle Talk is one of the GsG Doujinshis allegedly created by Yu Aida under the name Jewel Box. This now proves that he did. Also shown is some artwork that was also allegedly fan-produced now showing that Yu created them.

Gunslinger Girl Promo CD 1 and 2 (released in 2002) shows off the TV episodes and video game (at the time, only 1 game cd was released). In fact, the cds claim that you could get them with from the magazine the Gunslinger Girl series is printed on, with the game cd or with the DVDs.

I'll see about converting the Gunslinger Girl Promo CD to an ISO file and put it up on a file share site. Alas... It only runs on a Windows Machine; Linux or Mac OS/OSX need not apply. But on non-Windows machines, you can explore the tidbits on the CD like wallpapers and such.

That's interesting... I had always assumed Aida was just the character designer for Bittersweet Fools, do you think he had influence over the writing for the project as well?

I'm actually kind of curious as to what you know about the game, and not just because Aida worked on it... it's also the first game from the company that went on to make EF.
