Nice of Triela not leaving the clean-up to Alfonso and Amadeo.
Nice use of color and shading.

Well, you know... sometimes there's just too much work on =P Or I guess Hilshire could have gone rogue again...

Yeah, it was supposed to be a body bag. Unfortunately a large roll of black plastic is suprisingly difficult to portray with any resonable level of clarity.
It was meant to look like she was midway through unfurling it as part of the "cleanup"... I mean hey: Hilshire drives an E-class estate, you could fit a dead body or two in the back of that thing no worries, wouldn't even need to fold the seats down or remove the load cover

Well, not technically a GSG drawing, but I figure a few people around here might be able to relate, particularly those studying.
Notes on Jesse: she's one of my OCs from outside GSG and basically gives me someone to express my opinions through. Usually she dresses better than this, but it's her "bumming around home" gear.

@ emperor - I can do clean solid lines, but generally save it for doing layouts, logos and presentations. When it comes to actual drawing I far prefer to keep things sketchy/painted looking

Re: Alfisti's Sketchings
Been bouncing around in my head since reading the Nerd Handbook over on Rands...
In particular: Each object in the [nerd] Cave has a particular place and purpose. Even the
clutter is well designed. Don’t believe me? Grab that seemingly
discarded Mac Mini which has been sitting on the floor for two months
and hide it. You’ll have 10 minutes before he’ll come stomping out of
the Cave — “Where’s the Mac?”
Lets face it: Hillshire has a nerd tendancy or two... starting with lacking social skills (even he admits that).

Re: Alfisti's Sketchings
It seems Triela and Monty made it into my uni-presentation... ah well, it wouldn't seem right if there wasn't a few pop-culture references in there. Last semester it was Deadpool, semester before that it was ARIA...
Hero/context-ish/interaction-ish shot for initial concept presentations, recropped to make the girls the focus rather than the furniture system. Perspective's a bit dodge since this is actually made up of three sketches out of my concept book, stitched together and rendered.
Higher Res here
Now go listen to some Atomic Rooster, Tame Impala or even some Chris Joss
EDIT: ok, scratch that last... Chris Joss for Monty, possibly Blue Oyster Cult for Triela.

Well, since I've not had anything cool GSG related to put here for awhile, have some hyper-relaxed, overly-jaded, socialist-ish, psudo-intellectual, permabroke uni student Jesse...
As much as I love GSG, Jesse and her little group are still my favorite OCs. It's getting warm here so she's back in summer gear, should really do Monty up a summer look as well come to think of it.

Unfortunately (fortunately?) I was mostly trying to take shots of the project so the Major didn't get much focus,

Re: Alfisti's Sketchings
I like the lighting you've used for The Major. Beatrice Lane ( ) has a good sense of focus, although I think that there would have been a certain geometric strength to it if you'd made the windows on the left-hand building perfectly parallel with the street sign. Still, having a little difference as there is now helps to separate foreground from background and keep the composition coherent, so you could argue it either way.

Cheers Robert, and you're right about the picture working better if the windows and sign lined up better... to be honest though at the time my major concern was holding the focus right the focus ring on my old 35-70mm lens is pretty smooth, which feels nice but means it's really easy to bump the focus off by accident.

Just trying one now...not bad at all. I usually don't go in for the mixed drinks, but there's potential here. And to think, I'd only been mixing my vermouth with rye whiskey (ala Manhattan).

Well it's definately one of my group of friends' staples... and a decent cold-weather alternative to the Gin and Tonic (doesn't go too badly sans-ice either in that case). Expect to see Jethro and Monty sucking them down if they ever get around to going somewhere cold.
Hmm, sadly I'm not much of a whiskey drinker (for some reason it gives me a headache), but next time I get the chance I shall risk some Vermouth with rye.

Your whiskey issue notwithstanding...if you like this Negroni you might also enjoy a Manhatten.
2 parts Canadian blended whiskey (or rye...I've even seen bourbon used)
1 part sweet vermouth
Bitters to taste

Random B/W photography... all shot on Kodak BW400CN film stock, Minolta XDs manual focus SLR.
From the Land Rover training day:
Also went to dinner at Cloudland... kinda non-plussed on the food. Good, but not for the price. Was worth it for the interior design:
BW400CN is technically a b/w film, but uses C41 colour processing, so if you scan it as a colour negative you get a sort of red-ish/magenta hue to the shots:

Very nice work, you got great depth of focus on that last one. It inspires me to pull my old Canon's out of the closet and brush up on my full-manual skills.
One thing I always got a kick out of was how many supposedly spectator restricted areas you could sneak into (particularly at motorsports events) with a manual SLR, a big lens and a hand-held light meter around your neck. Pretend you know what you're doing and people assume you belong there.

Do it...
Haha, yeah... that's one of the reasons I like using film for street: film seems to carry more kudos than digital, you can get away with more using a film camera since people seem to assume that you're either professional/eccentric/an arts student/all of the above. Plus it's great plausible deniablity "can you show me your photos?" "Well I'd love to but it's film".
I've been seriously considering giving Monty a film camera for that exact reason.
Out of curiosity: what Canons have you got?

A pair of AE-1's (about 1983 I estimate) and a '68 FTb. They all use the FE style lenses, but the old FTb doesn't use the automatic f/stop feature.
It's getting hard to find competent developing though, so I admit I've been using digital for everything over the last few years.
