Hello

Hello all. I'm relatively new to anime series in that I've only been watching it for about a year+ now. I was put off by much of what I saw on Adult Swim and so stayed away from the genre until I picked up a copy of Howl's Moving Castle. I was amazed by the quality of the work. After devouring all of the Studio Ghibli films, I branched out to other movies (Akira, Cowboy Bebop (followed by the series), Ghost in the Shell, all of the Satoshi Kon films, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust) and then started in on various TV series (Sister Princess, Kino's Journey, Serial Experiments Lain, Paranoia Agent). I finally watched Gunslinger Girl a couple of weeks ago. A truly amazing and innate sad series. I have never been into manga but after seeing GSG, I picked up the 6 volumes of GSG manga that have been translated. I hope that Volumes 7 through 10 are translated and made available. I found this site through a Google search.

I'm not quite sure where that is yet (...I haven't had time to explore the forums yet...) but it is good to know that the translated manga is hanging around the site somewhere.

It looks to be better than mine is I was stationed in Southern Germany for 3 years and I when I left there, my skill level of German wasn't not much more than "Ein bier bitte".

Ah lol. Well I love close to the German border in Holland, only 20 minute drive by car and I am hearing everyone talk German.

so i am used to hearing it.
reading and writing is a different matter though, but I can manage.

That sounds right, right? Most of the German quotes I have in my fic were plucked from German dictionaries, combined together, and let the exchange student checks it for correction.

Image link? There's an icon with a picture of 'picture' and a floppy disk; use that.

everytime I click host it there comes another site with copy...

Any images that you want to post in a thread needs to be hosted on another website first. The image of Claes in Panzer IV's entry sits on i52.servimg.com and the [img][/img] holds a link to where it can be found.

So you know, if the address of the file is file: (followed by anything) then it means that it is a file on your computer. If I created said file on my computer, it may work for me, but it may not (I don't actually know when it comes to localhost images in webpages) but it won't work for anyone else. You need to link to a http:// site (eg. Photobucket or Imageshack)
