Wow, some of you guys are still here, eh? Who else is running around?

Besides a couple of years, what I have missed?

I happened across a contestant in an art competition I joined, named 'Wraith11" who has a fratello team, Jethro and Monty. Was going through some tidbits of theirs and was feeling nostalgic.

That would be Alfisti, a very active member from Brisbane. The site is pretty OC oriented these days, especially since the end of the manga.

Besides a couple years? About half a hundred other members have come and gone; we've had a couple-three collabs and RPs begin and fade out; we've started a Skype group that videocalls for live chat on Saturday nights. Oh, and a few hundred thousand words of fiction, here and on FFnet. That's about it.

Good to see you back, Colonel, if only for a visit.

Colonel.

"Now that is the name I haven't heard in a long time. A long time." -- Obi-wan Kenobi

I have recently discovered that I am (very highly likely) bipolar (and of the types that I could have typically includes more than one issue), which explains my extended mood swings and writing, as well as interests and social risks, and fuels a belief that people are "after me" (which was partly true but probably not nearly as big as I had imagined it).

I'm cycling back because I have finally found a few things I want to develop and pay a team to help me get going on. And I recalled the fans of this franchise to be of particular talent.

I'm so freakishly old (as a franchise fan and FF writer) that I predate this site by a few years. In fact, about the time it got started up I was fading out, and I had been a fan for years prior to that.

Those were the days, but I wouldn't have traded that development and shaping of my person and skills for much else.

Anyone have boy fratello teams since Natchsider started it all? Man, I looked up the site for any of mine and they don't appear anywhere except 1 very old post. But what I know now as a more developed writer, I'd probably change some anyway.

Ha, I thought I recognised your name on dA. Wasn't certain though, I think you were slightly before my time on here originally.

As for boy-borgs, we've had a few, off the top of my head (and apologies to anyone I miss), JasonStarslayer had one, Danjo had his group, and MP5 and topgearbrzgt86 both have a handfull of male fratelli.

Ha, ha, ha, reputation is preceding.

I would thoroughly enjoy seeing OC fratello team reactions to him, or the Covenant Reformation Group. Having OC cyborgs is nice, but personally to me that pales in comparison to the thrill of OC villainy!

I have read a lot of the series but was unaware it ended. The last thing I remember was Claes death, I heard Triela had died (I think), so I'm way behind on things. I also never got past the second episode of the second season, but I do remember Triela's fight with Pinocchio.

Anywhere someone could point out what I'm missing? I own the manga through several volumes but don't have them on hand to check how far I've gotten.

I'd like to be a fan of a series of some kind again. Been empty the past 2 years.

Let's see... I think I got into Gunslinger Girl early of 2005, I was just turned 17. Funny story how I happened across it.

When I got around to joining FF.net, there were 24 stories total for GSG. I faded away as 2008 was ending, more than 6 years ago.

Most of us are. About five of the top twenty all-time posters haven't logged in here in years.

We have a thread for that, in the 'Gossip' or 'Hello' forums I believe. Also, if you have an OC fratello to introduce, we generally recommend the 'Interview with a cyborg' and 'handler debrief' threads.

The FFnet account has expanded some since then. And right here on the site you'll find some excellent fics that can be found nowhere else, under the authors' library threads and scattered throughout the forum in the discussion threads.

If you want to be part of something manga again, Marksman, you could do worse than come here. We're an easy bunch to get along with.

I was hoping for a way to get familiar with the general "rules of engagement" first, i.e. learn the general culture of the group, how crossovers with OC's generally worked, timelines, what was trending, etc. I need to know how much overhauling on my characters need to be worked on to fit these general bits of criteria. I don't want to storm in with something so off or overused. I also wanted to get a general overview of some of the popular fratello teams and didn't know where to go or if there was an easy, one-spot source.

-

For example, Luke Barrohk was written as the first SWA male operative way back when I introduced him. He stuck to the group like glue and he and Claes became an undisputed couple. Ehud Barrohk former Mossad actually barged himself into SWA and 'forced' their hand to allow him to work for them as a handler. He picked a boy. That was over 7-8 years ago though.

Terra/Lucas and Carol/Gino teams are probably more flexible and easier to work with. They were hired on as specialists to combat a specific, new enemy faction (the Covenant Reformation Group). I was not sure if they would still be viable or "original".

Also it appears to me that handlers from other countries seems to have gotten more popular.

Is Hillshire still a German punching bag for gags?

Also, anyone from the old original group still running around? I saw TommyGunner (though not much) and obviously Boomer.

Sintendo? Nachtsider? PanzerIV? Sheo Darren? Danjo? Oddity? Gainsborough? Aliases?

Sintendo has been gone forever; the last time he logged in was to offer to sell us all his GsG stuff. Likewise, the last three names you mentioned have been history since before I came here in '09. Sheo has been visiting lately after a long absence, like you. Danjo and Nacht show up about once or twice a month.
