Looking for a Shetland Sheepdog

It's been almost a year since my buddy, Classy died. Being home around my mom and sister's dogs make me feel alone. Having my hamster, Travis is nice... but it's not the same. I've recently been getting yearnings for another dog, a Shetland Sheepdog, of corse. Although I would LOVE to adopt, there aren't many places in my area, and they won't ship their dogs. Also they want home visits and a million other things. It's a NIGHTMARE to adopt dogs! My sister went through all that and in the end ended up getting a puppy. I found a perfect puppy a week ago, was all set to buy her, I named her Vader. Then the people who I thought could help me pay for her ended up saying no.

I'm looking for puppies every day that are low in price and are willing to be shipped to me. (I'm talking $400 plus shipping cheap) It's difficult.

I know this is a long shot, but do any of you guys on here know of a place that has decently priced Shetland Sheepdogs?

I just wanted to ask in case anyone could point me in the right direction for a dog of my own.

I don't know what your transportation situation is like but the North Shore Animal League isn't too far from you (just north of Queens).

I've been looking and found a few hopefuls nearby. I hope I can get one...

I finally found one that looks really pretty and she is $250. The total with shipping is $600!! >_< Everything I find that's in my price range is either a shady puppy mill like place orrr the price is ok, but the shipping is what kills it.

I was thinking about maybe opening up art commissions on here for $1 to help pay for a dog, but I didn't know if it would be allowed. Plus I didn't think anyone would want to pay or would want me to draw them anything.

Yeah, I hear you on the jobs. Absolute sonsabitches to garner. Go ahead with the art commissions; there's no rule saying you can't do that here. Perhaps you could do the same on DA, too; I'm sure somebody will have requests for you, given your talent.
