contacts

greetings to all we our self an us just got contacts and were wondering what the opinions of the masses is are and was. we think they are a pain in the eyeball to put in , but they are not as annoying once in. and remember kids

you had it worse off than we did. we have only had contacts for just over a week now and it takes us only ten minutes tops to put them in.

Honestly I have no real urge to trade my glasses for contacts, partly because I think they just look like far too much effort...

...mostly though because I tend to treat my glasses as much as a fashion statement as something to help me see, and I think I look better with them on then without.

Odd... I think of glasses as being utilitarian for the purpose of letting me see... contacts have a distressing tendency to melt when exposed to OC spray...

Can't wear contacts, and even if I could, I would not.
Many eye infections have happened due to improper care of contacts, and the contact wears ends up needing Ophthalmologic Surgery.

Extended Wear Contact? Bullshit. You need to keep the contacts clean at all times of bacteria builds up between the contact and the cornea. That means constant pouring in disinfectant onto the contact (and the eye). Problem: such things kills 99% of the germ, what about that 1%? That 1% becomes Super-Germ in about a year's time and then the disinfectant wont work at all. At This Point- Go to Eye Infections and Needing Optholmologic Surgery.

Then there are the scratches soft contacts get from everyday use and even from blinking. For me, my glasses cost almost a grand for special lenses and frames. My Ex-from-heaven spends more than double on her contact lens care kit and replacement lenses.

Contacts might be good for SOME purposes, but not all. Their expense of cost of maintenance may also not be worth it for some either and the daily routine of upkeep may also be a hassle to some.

...you could just wear dailies, Elfen. No maintenance required, put them on in the morning, flick them into the wastebin at night.
