What would your OC's be driving around if they are presented a situation much like Death Race?
What weapons would they be equipped with and how would they be driven?

Of course no purpose built Combat Vehicles are allowed.

Fernando's Porsche has all the amenities as a 928GTL should along with a supercharged V8, and enough amour plating to up up against an M1. In UN Resolution, on the way to the US Embassy, it took enough rounds from snipers and assorted wanna-be-hero idiots to make most people dive away from it and wait for it to explode! All it needs is maybe a couple of anti-ballistic panel replaced and a new paint job.

Francesca's Alfa is also amoured, but being a convertible, the weak point if that rag-top, made up of layers of diamond fiber, Kevlar and Sorbethane. Its enough to stop a large caliber machine gun or shotgun slugs but nothing larger than that. It can survive shrapnel if something explodes by it.

Well, Allison has her ever-faithful Delta, whose exact horsepower figures are still unknown (because I haven't put much thought into it), but it does have as of chapter 7 the same kind of anti-ballistic triple-layer polymer coating that Diego Zhao of Rush City fame/obscurity uses on his Pontiac Solstice GXP, 'Sam'. This means it is designed to stop everything up to 7.62x51mm NATO, though it has yet to be tested against larger-caliber weapons and anti-armor weaponry, primarily because Allison relies on her driving skill and not the vehicle to get through a situation. Weapon space is limited to a gun bag or two in the boot area, though an X-net launcher hidden in the rear bumper can thwart (and if equipped with Q-branch nets laced with detonation cord, eliminate) any pursuers.

Offensively speaking, if one can call it that, Fernando's vehicles (including Francesca's Alfa), have Oil slick, Smoke Screen and Caltrips (metal triangle tire ripping spikes that always land with one point up). These devices are easy to build as Fernando made them himself with just a bit of ingenuity. No... no machine guns in the bumpers or headlights.

Avise 'walks' a World War 2 Fiat H/37 Italian army mecha which, unknown to him, was once used by the Croce brother's grandfather. Although of excellent use against Ethiopian tribesmen, the H/37 proved underarmoured (its riveted steel stops standard rifle rounds and mustard gas, but not 2 pounder shells or modern RPG weapons), undergunned (two Breda machine guns, and one low-velocity 37mm cannon), underpowered (a primary reason for the failure of the 1940 Alpine campaign was that it couldn't walk up mountains) and undermanned (pilots often ran away in the face of superior Allied armour). Now lovingly restored and repainted in its original colours, the H/37's only fault is its tendency to break down when climbing the Spanish Steps in Rome and large piles of garbage in Naples, forcing Agapita to physically carry it to the target area.

Hmmm.. should have been a bit clearer... The vehicles should be modified in such a way as those in the movie.
Armor plates, Forward firing weapons, Rear defence and tricks and the such.

They should be able to compete at level or above that of the movie vehicles.

Armed and Armored Transport 3775073971_d3f8e783f1

Tried and true. SAS favorite, the Land Rover 110 long wheelbase, loaded to the gills with weapons. Typically carried one four-man patrol and enough weapons, fuel and ammo. It's not the fastest or the most heavily armored, but it fits the criteria of a "normal" vehicle and is rugged and can be absolutely packed with weapons. It's still faster than those overloaded junkers in the movie, too. My personal setup:

*An M2HB, or two of them on the back with an armored plate. Lots of API ammo to screw up lightly armored targets.
*A pair of M240Bs with plenty of armor piercing ammo passenger and rear.
*A roll cage with two or more second generation TOW missiles, enough to barbeque a MBT. That should be more than enough for these wanna-be tanks.
*Smoke dischargers all over the place, and a bunch of grenades and anti tank mines that can be hurled onto the road behind.

Alternatively, an armored Mercedes G class armored to B6 ballistic protection absolute minimum. TOW missile on the top, and as many machine guns as I can get on the windows. If necessary, strip down the interior to save weight, roll down the bulletproof windows and install gunshields. Cattlecatcher on the front, remove the crush zones and replace the rear window with a rear-firing Mk19.

Then the absolutely normal option would be be some generic full-size BMW like a 535i with B6 armor, improved suspension and engine for the weight, and to maximize speed for the lacking armor and weapons. A larger hatch would be installed under the seatrest in the back seats, so that someone could physically crawl into the rear to retrieve weapons if needed. A basic complement would be a light machine gun in 7.62x51mm NATO, minimum, some sort of antitank weapon, enough ceramic body armor for all on board, pistols, assault rifles, and an assortment of concussive and smoke grenades.

As for Q-branch style onboard weaponry, I'd like some kind of heavy machine gun in there somewhere... maybe a minigun or grenade launcher in the trunk?

Lets be honest here: if Jethro + Monty ever wind up in an "armed an armoured" car... I think we all know which one it's going to be.

...maybe I'll have to send them to a high-end classic car auction or something.

I'll admit your mention of the DB5 did bring this to mind...
