Wedding Photos
So, as a few of you are aware, a week or so ago I was in San Francisco making sure a mate arrived at the alter sober and with his pants on the right way round. It was a pretty relaxed affair in the end, but photos are now available (not taken by me though... I was busy with best man duties). Anyway, more to follow once I get off my arse and get my film rolls developed.
At Dublin/Pleasanton BART station, picked up by the bride's mother on the morning of the wedding. Smash on the right of the picture, yours truely on the left:
Waiting patiently for the bride, preceeded by Baily the beagle:
Vows are taken. I'd been given the rings that morning by Midget and had spent the rest of the day up untill this moment being very paranoid about where they were at any given time:
And then group photos. Midget, the groom, on the right, and Alfisti, unfortunate best man, on the left:
But of course, some old high-school habits die hard...

Re: Wedding Photos
You totally rock that suit. Also, the bride has an amazing dress.

Haha, yeah the hoop dresses were impressive. They did offer an interesting challenge in a small back yard, one or two of the brides' maids got stuck between rows of seating
Also, I should mention: massive props to the bride's mother (with the help of her father) who managed to put the entire wedding together from nothing, including completely remodelling the back-yard, repainting the house and building the deck in under three months.

Those hoop dresses have a southern belle look to them which I'm loving.

Looks like a good time. Even if the journey left you bankrupt as you feared you'll never regret being there in person.
The venue looks very nice as well. I've been to a lot of different weddings...church affairs, elaborate banquet hall & country club events, one Las Vegas wedding (sorry, no Elvis), Christian, Islamic, Secular...and these back-yard weddings seem to be the most fun.

Yeah, one description of the dresses that I heard was "Gone with the Wind"... the other was "Disney Princess" To be honest I generally prefer stuff with a bit more slink, but they were fantastic looking.KodokuRyuu wrote:Those hoop dresses have a southern belle look to them which I'm loving.
Actually it wound up costing a lot less than I expected, thanks in part to the wedding taking care of food for one day and the bride's parents paying for another meal with us (we offered, they declined)... and that the only shopping I did over there there was for wedding gifts (Bed, Bath and Beyond's website doesn't accept non-US cards). That the suit and outfit cost less than expected too (I actually was in the process of buying it when I found out about the wedding, so good timing) also helped.Professor Voodoo wrote:Looks like a good time. ...of course, I'm still waiting on the phonebill.
Yeah, this was my first time at a back-yard wedding (the others I've been too were church affairs, sometimes under strained circumstances) and it was a far more relaxing way to go about the process.

All of you look great. I really like the bride and bridesmaid dresses. Looks like a lot of fun and even better when it is relaxed. Thanks for showing pics!

Re: Wedding Photos
Finally got my arse into gear and had the films developed... seriously, last time I use Kodak TMax400.
Sorry lady, we're just not paying attention to you anymore:
The day all got a bit much for the bride, fortunately her new husband was there to support her:
This is what bubbles look like up close:
Those of use who know Midget know that you should not let him near sharp objects... obviously he's been on best behaviour when meeting the bride's family:
Delicious, delicious cake...

It was... there were actually quite a few swords to chose from, but that seemed the most appropriate. Besides, the broadswords would have been difficult to do a neat job withKodokuRyuu wrote:That is a awesome sword he's cutting the cake with.
