Kara's found another way to blow a million of Michele's Euro - the 2009 Ferrari 599XX:




Designed for track use (and, like the Enzo-based FXX, not street legal), it is based on the 599 GTB Fiorano. The engine is upgraded, now rated at 700 PS (510 kW; 690 hp)@9000rpm. It also weighs about 300kg less thanks to extensive use of carbon fiber and removing components (though it still has air conditioning) and the aerodynamics were retuned to give more downforce (280 kg @ 200 km/h, 630 kg @ 300 km/h).

What category is it intended to race in? Looks to me like a decent FIA GT1 entry, but it's pretty late to be rolling out an entry for this season.

Alternate possibility; it could be intended for a spec series like the 360 Challenge Stradale.

Perversely, it's actually illegal in just about everything due to things like it's active aerodynamics and cutting-edge stability control systems. The car does come with a warranty (5000 km which for a pure track car, is pretty generous) so you can enter it into endurance events like 6 Hours of Vallelunga.

Ferrari does have an 18-event challenge set at tracks around the world, but instead of the 29 planned cars racing each other, they race the clock individually with the goal of improving their time as the weekend progresses. This idea appeals to Kara, since it's a personal improvement challenge.

Of course alternately she could always wait for the apparently slated GTO road going version...
