Anyone here in JROTC?

I'd love to know if any of my comrades(lulz) are in JROTC, or were, or planning.

I'm a Private in it, and planning to become a Corporal. What rank are you???

Isn't that similar to Canada's Royal Canadian Air/Army/Navy Cadet program? Cos I was in that until I aged out (at 18 years old).

I was a Warrant Officer Second Class, as I was too lazy to apply for WO1.

I think. Did you sign up at your high school and do P.T.(Physical Training, just another name for P.E.)?

No, for Cadets (I was in Air Cadets), you just go to the Air Cadets building and sign up. No physical requirements at all, just that you be at least 12 years old and under 18.

It wasn't offered at my H.S. but a few guys in my Basic Training unit had been in JROTC. It seemed like a good deal...depending on the time they spent these guys started out in the E-2 or E-3 paygrade, instead of E-1 like the rest of us.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool, how you can start off ahead of everyone if you were in JROTC. But I don't plan to join the military. I'm in it 'cause it's pretty fun. I get to wear the green uniform with a few medals. I may post a pic of me in it one day here But yeah, it's pretty fun.

I was in what I guess is our equivalent (or an equivalent) the Air Force Cadets... left as a Flight Sargent. They tried to send me on WOFF's and CUO's promotion courses but I refused, looked like way too much effort But seriously, I liked being a SGT: just the right mix of freedom, power and responsibility.

I was in a similar program to JROTC, that being the Civil Air Patrol. I left the program as a 1st Lt. I should have stayed for another 2 months to get promoted to Captain but oh well. Made my college applications look really good with it.

I was thinking of doing ROTC in college.
It would be good for my airsofting junk and actually make somthing of my future.

i was in the Sea Cadets,full naval uniform,older style though,which was great with the girls as it included stockings and suspenders,(not that that had anything to do with me joining!) they had a engine room with two old bus engines rigged as generators, a fake bridge with 1980's computers supplying the graphics,the virtual ship steered the course of the wheel inputs and the engine room reacted to the engine orders,they taught us meteorology,radio communications,basic drill,firefighting techniques (we had an old airport crash tender and defunct helicopter,a tray of gas and diesel in front supplied the flames),and they had use of the TA's indoor rifle range for .22 training,though we also had a occasional weekends on an outdoor range with the old SMLE .303,and they also taught us knot tying and first aid !

Tried to apply but they said "No 'Mad Dog Killer' types allowed."
