Yeah, I'm the new guy. Guess, I need to say Hello.

Just two things for now.

First, anyone know where I can get some material to learn (written) japanese. Thought I could help with some translating when I find the time (and when I'm out of out the sh*t hole of work on my desk).

Second, I thought "Cancer" by My Chemical Romance (emo guys) goes well with this manga. Here are the lyrics.

I don't see Hillshire and Triela as a couple, but yeah, everyone's entitled to their own opinion. And 'Cancer' is, indeed, a song marvelously suited to GSG - who knows, one of the SWA's cyborgs still unknown to us could have previously been a dying cancer patient, sadly contemplating her end as she lay there in a hospital bed. Welcome to the club!

I think it’s pretty much one sided at this point and unfortunately for Triela, it’s probably going to stay that way.

Oh, in that case check out The Japanese Page - it's where I got started. They used to have a set of grammar lessons compiled into a single page, but it seems they've changed that. -_- Now it's scattered about in bunches of different pages, but at least they have this list linking to them all. I suggest reading through the first couple of chapters followed by watching a bunch of anime and listening carefully for what you learned - it seriously works.

Also, it's a must to learn at least the kana if not some kanji - DO NOT USE ROMAJI!! It will be more difficult to learn how to read Japanese later if you learn romaji before kana. It will also reduce your understanding of the language a bit if you don't learn kanji. And if you learn kanji you may as well learn stroke order since that will make it easier to remember what the kanji looks like.

Lastly, GSG is not a good manga to start with as far as translating goes - go for a shounen or maybe a shoujo series - seinen is harder to read and often doesn't have furigana which makes it much harder for a beginner to look up words.

Sometimes knowing that things won't end well just makes the end even more moving in a meloncholy way.

I just remembered, Petra had bone cancer.

But then, her case is not terminal cancer (I think). And, she jumped of the roof. And in her case it's not "Know that I will never marry." For her it's "Know that I will never dance." So, I think the Cancer song doesn't quite suit her.

welcome and i don't think emo songs fit GSG because I've concluded the show isn't about sadness, but more about the girls focus on trying to live "Happy" lives
