Those of you familiar with the old 'Ideas' thread may remember this one. I'm partiucularly fond of it though, so I'm giving it it's own thread. It's an interesting A.U., so I thought it'll be a shame not to explore it further.

---

Idea; Through the Looking Glass

In an alternate reality, five special women uncover a great conspiracy that would shake the foundation of the world forever.

Angelina ‘the
Obsidian Angel’ is from the rough side of town. After her father tired to
murder her, she was bounced from foster home to foster home, eventually
deciding to live life her way as a hard as nails biker. One day, she
bears witness to a firefight between grown men and adolescent girls.
Barely escaping with her life, Angie soon finds her face plastered over
every wanted poster in town. She's seen something she wasn’t supposed
to, and now she’s running for her life against an enemy she doesn’t
know…

Triela was arguably the greatest
detective Interpol had ever seen until she ‘retired’ (she got bored)
and became a P.I. Rescued, adopted and trained by the legendary detective Victor
Hartmann himself, this sassy young woman is the best P.I. in Europe.
Particularly concerned with the use of children as mere tools because
of her violent past, Triela stumbles upon a concerning rumor; something
about child assassins in Rome…?

Florence was
bed ridden for most of her youth until the day when startling new
advances in the prosthetics field allowed to live a normal life. She
married a man named Emilio and has become a successful journalist, her
natural inquisitiveness allowing her to excel in her field. However,
she has always wondered where the research that allowed her to walk
again came from. Maybe that’ll be her next story.

Claes is
an aspiring novelist and Harvard graduate. After recieving a cryptic summons from her old
friend and mentor Raballo, she arrives in Rome only to find him dead, a
message having been left for her. Claes eventually realizes that someone had her
friend and mentor killed for knowing something. Determined to avenge his
death, Claes begins to delve into the unknown.

Lisa is
something of a crazy stalker. A certified pigtailed geek, she has been
arrested no less than fifty separate occasions for stalking her
prospective boyfriends. Lisa even has four separate restraining orders
on her right now! The girl in green can’t help it; she loves them so
much (until her next obsession of course)! lisa's current focus is on
this handsome stud named Lauro de Sica. The problem is, his job is in
the way…

Five women, one conspiracy.

Dogged by the mysterious child assassin ‘Henrietta’,
can these five women uncover the ultimate conspiracy despite the odds?
Can they fight against a corrupt government while surviving against
superhuman child killers? Can they answer the question that has cost so many
lives?

Can they find out what is the Social Welfare Agency?

---

I wonder where Pinnochio and Petruska are... If we follow the pattern above, I suppose Petra/Elisabeth is a unpstanding member of society while being a wold class ballerina instead of 'Sandero's little sex toy. Pino on the other hand... should he still be a 5R assassin? I wonder.

maybe Pino is a gunslinger boy, and Triela is the terrorist? I don't know what you would do with Henrietta, but that's not really my problem. You know having Pino just be some Five Republics terrorist that Triela put behind bars still works to. That, or their off, and on lovers who hate each other. Oh idea, maybe their off, and on because Pino is still a criminal/terrorist, and Triela is on the other side of the law. Of course for that one to work out you would have to increase Pino's moral code.

I'm not sure aboout Pinocchio being an SWA cyborg, but I would love to still see Triela and Pino having a 'relationship' of sorts. Perhaps he's that thief she never could pin down despite knowning exactly where he lives and what he did to afford that villa... better yet, perhaps we could pull one from Ocean's Twelve.

She doesn't hate him becuase he's a criminal... oh nooooo. She wants to pump him full of buckshot becuase he ran out on her the day after he proposed (when she revealed on that same dinner she had evidence that could nail the guy who robbed Richard Branson, i.e. him).

But this setup would probably only work if Pino wasn't in the killing buisness. As a Interpol detective, Triela would have been obligated to turn him in if he went around killing people.

But if Pino's loyalty to Christiano is too strong, maybe we could say that she keeps getting the cases which involve him?

Well regardless of any of that, I'd love to see Pinocchio and Triela still have some sort of past history when she starts investigating the SWA.

Forgot to mention those restraining orders are all in different jurisdictions.

Yeah, Elsa's double gets around.

This one and the Groundhog's Day styled one were my faves from the ideas thread. It's nice to see it revisited. The concept definately seems interesting.

I do have to wonder, where would Beatrice fit in here?

Too bad, I'm working on 'Echoes' and 'Marked' at the moment with a little 'Partners' on the side. Full time job.

Biccie would probably be another scary little gunslinger girl trying to give Triela an early grave. There is nothing on her backstory whatsoever, so I haven't a clue what her civilian life would be like (unlike Elsa, who we all know is a lovesick stalker).

'Florence', now I wonder, would she be anywhere as good as her canon counterpart? For that matter, would any of them be able to fight (or at least run away in a dignified manner) against a short angry P90 wielding engine of death?

I bet P.I. Triela could beat up a cyborg. Her badassity runs in her blood. Cyborg or not, she'd figure out a way to come out on top.
