Assassination of Croce familly (bomb placed under the highway in vol 12 chap 71) looks exactly like the assassination of Juge Falcone in Italy in 1992. But each time i talk about that with fans of Gunslinger girl, nobody understand what i’am talking about. I suppose most of them forget it or are too young to remember that ? But i’am sure that Yu Aida was inspired by the Falcon assassination because the killers acted in the same way. Did somebody else noticed that too ?

I would not be surprised if he used it as a model. I may have read about Signore Falcone's assassination in the news at the time it happened, but I admit to not really following Italian news all that closely.

It wouldn't surprise me even a little bit, Aida has routinely used the likeness of real Italian political figures for Gunslinger Girl, and there are probably many references you couldn't spot unless you know recent Italian political history.

Like the others, it really wouldn't suprise me in the slightest. I guess my general impression of GsG though is sort of that Yu took an existing/previoius political fracas in Italy... and turned it up to eleven. So that he would pull inspiration from other sources seems logical.

Ok, so I'll admit I had to Wiki this one, though one thing that struck me is that the ambush site looks very much like the ambush site used to get the Croces.

Giovanni Croce / Giovanni Falcon.

I think like Kadnax.

In the tome 5 / chapter 23, page 25, the SWA is compare with a new agency who have the name "catalonia". I think that Yu Aida do a reference to the "Aginter Press".

But in the end of the chapter, we can understand that the response isn't simply.
