Hello all! This is my first post on the Gunslinger Girl forums. I discovered Gunslinger Girl several months ago, but I was hesitant about posting on the forum, because of my lack of experience using forums. Now for a bit about myself: I am a Canadian, and have lived in Ontario all my life. I am 19 years old and in my first year at university studying mathematics. The Henrietta-Jose fratello is my favourite, but it appears we are outnumbered by those who prefer the Triela-Hilshire pair. I follow a number of web comics, including xkcd, Control-Alt-Delete, Order of the Stick, Megatokyo and Dark Legacy. I also frequently play World of Warcraft, and I am a big fan of Blizzard in general (I look forward to the release of Starcraft II). As a hobby I have programed many simple games over the last few years, although most are incomplete.

I saw an advertisement on the control-alt-delete page last November - for the Il Teatrino anime I think. The first things I watched were the dubbed English anime, but I prefer the subtitled anime and favour the manga above that with few exceptions. If you were asking what it was about Gunslinger Girl that interested me, that's probably harder to answer - like answering what it is about math that interests me .

I've watched both seasons both ways - dubed is fine, but the voices they give the characters are dramatically different, and overall I prefer those of the Japanese voice actors.

I feel the same. My first experience with GSG was in English, so normally that should make me like the dub, but I rented the DVDs and started with Japanese so I've stayed away from the dubs.

Welcome! I can identify with you on about half of what you said in your opening post. Good to meet another Etta fan, but it's a shame you prefer the sub .
