Can girls survive from booby traps?

Can't find the cruel one. But I can see Rico stuck in that hole and slowly bleeding to death.

Rico's uber reflexes would enable her to punch and splinter that damn board before it can even spring up fully.

I suppose the first question is - would the stakes even penetrate their natural armor? Gravity is a harsh mistress, but comparing the energy of a free-fall into a two meter ditch to what a 5.56mm round imparts, I'm thinking penetration may not be that deep.

And while the girls bleed, I'm not sure how their circulatory system works after the conversion, so they may no longer have large-capacity veins and arteries that if lacerated would lead to them bleeding out.

And, of course, they should have no problem jumping out of a two meter deep hole. Or just climb out, since they have more than enough strength to jam their hands and feet into the dirt walls.

Very probably.

Plus we don't know if they'd penetrate her armor deep enough to lacerate anything serious and even if they could, we don't know how their circulatory system is designed to deal with such damage.

If Angie can survive a truck bomb, then the booby trap would only piss her off!

But seriously. If such a booby trap was filled with water and it was at such a depth that was several feet above her head- Rico would drown. Getting hit with the board of nails would do nothing, but drowning would. I would apply this tot he rest of the girl, if they cant swim as it is apparent with Rico.

Rico can tread water. We saw her do it in the Venetian canal in both the manga and in the OVA.

I guarantee you Jean is not holding her head above water. His position is wrong.

She only sank like a stone when she first went in because she was too surprised to swim. The same thing can happen with humans, even though they are naturally buoyant.

any of the girls surprised by that would likely just throw up her shielding arm and break the thing.
she might get some fairly heavy lacerations... but the short distance it has to swing, and the fact that it's swinging upwards would limit the momentum it could hit 'em at severely... depending on how well it's counterweighted.

Only horrible ninjas fall into such traps. Last I checked, I've never seen a horrible ninja. I have however seen a ninja who claimed to be from New Jersey, so I guess that could come as close to a horrible ninja I can think of.

My answer? Nah.

The injuries created by many of these traps leaned towards the maiming/lethal infection variety. Stepping into such a trap would certainly result in leg injuries, and maybe to the arms and torso if falling in awkwardly.

I wouldnt worry so much about infection with the girls, but leg damage is certainly possible, perhaps even warranting replacements. The musculature of the girls is fairly normal in design, if not in performance, and a leg injury from something like that would certainly slow them down a bit.

As mentioned above, such spikes would probably not penetrate the chest regions' armor from such a short fall.

The typical booby trap would probably on make them angry or more protective of their fratello.

Punji is a simple spike, made out of wood or bamboo. But in the vietnam wars, the Vietcong would often cover those things with shit so that if a soldier fell into the trap and was able to get himself free, he would still have the wounds and the spreading infection from the shit to deal with.
