Solty Rei
I just finished watching Solty Rei and... OMG I'm crying SO MUCH! It's so hard to type. ;______;
It was an AMAZING anime! If you haven't seen it yet go and watch it NOW!
I loved almost all the characters. (Shocker since almost all of them are girls, knowing how anime has annoying anime girls.) XD
Let's see... my top favorite characters are...
Solty
Such a nice person! So sweet! ^__^ It's hard not to love her! <3
Yuto
So hoooot!!!! X3 he's really funny too! =D
But my absolute favorite person is
Accela
I don't just like her cuz she has Caitlin Glass's voice ( I HATE Winery from FMA) She's really nice and she loves her friends, she someone I can relate to. ^_^ Plus she's awesome towards the end! X3 She's now one of my top female characters in anime! =D
The animation, plot, and characters were all great. The characterization is amazing! The action in the anime was great too, but there were a lot of times where I cried. ;_; (Like noww!!) ;_;

Re: Solty Rei
It was fairly decent sci-fi. I liked how there was homage without outright ripoff. Good twists too.
It's fun to watch and I'd recommend it.

Re: Solty Rei
Yup, excellent series; definitely one of my favorites. I watched it a couple years back and found it quite interesting as well as rather moving from time to time. It also has its funny parts at appropriate times, which is something that's not done often enough. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
Haha, you used the pics from the character listings on the official website. I remember those from back when I was working on the Wikipedia character list for the series.
Say, has anyone watched the OVAs for the series? I haven't had a chance to see them yet, but I believe there are two, and they introduce some new characters.

Just finished the first three episodes and have seven more to watch in this set of DVDs (Volumes 1 and 2). So far I'm liking it. Not epic, but not bad.

I've seen a couple episodes here and there, but I haven't actually sat down to watch it all straight through. It looked like a good series from what I saw.

10 episodes in and it's silly in a good, not ridiculous way.
Not deep enough for me to buy or watch ever again, but I will complete watching the series once.

Not sure I really have a "favorite".
Solty is too cute for words, but I don't find that exactly endearing.
I like Kasha's spunk and I like Rose's audacity/comfort level with herself.
The R.U.C. Girls are all kinda ditzes. Obviously not the "A-Team" in terms of the security forces. Integra Martel is the most-attractive of them all, though Celica Yayoi is a close second.

Re: Solty Rei
I said that too at first. I almost gave the series up after episode 5. Just wait a little longer and the story will pick up. After episode 14 the real plot begins. It goes from happy-go-lucky to tragedy in an instant, and that's where the fun begins.Kiskaloo wrote:10 episodes in and it's silly in a good, not ridiculous way.

- People start dying, and I love stories that aren't afraid to kill off main characters.
Lol, you picked the three sisters.Kiskaloo wrote:Solty is too cute for words, but I don't find that exactly endearing.

- See, I normally am. I was really afraid that killing/sending off the three characters I liked the most in CSI would ruin the show for me, but the writing has improved so monumentally that I actually enjoy the show more now.
But usually when a favorite character goes, so do I. I stopped watching NCIS when Sasha Alexander's character died. And I've dropped a slew of BBC series because they love killing off main characters with reckless abandon.

Re: Solty Rei
So I finished the last DVD. Episode 23 and 24 were quite good.
I give this series props for actually going somewhere and developing. I can think of a number of anime that couldn't do it over 13 episodes, much less 24.
I do have to say that I loved the OVA - "Opportunities Missed, Love Shared". That was fantastic.
Overall, I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
