Fratello Teams

EDIT: Well it was a nice idea, but Silvia has been there longer then Rico and Henrietta, at least, so scrap this.

Based on Chapter 60 implying Chiara and Silvia are "Fratello Teams 5 and 6", that would imply they were present before Claes, Beatrice and Elsa if the teams are numbered in the order they joined, which frankly both makes sense and seems to be at least partially supported by the manga:

• Fratello Team 1 - Marco and Angelica
  
• Fratello Team 2 - Hillshire and Triela
  
• Fratello Team 3 - Jean and Rico
  
• Fratello Team 4 - Giuse and Henrietta
  
• Fratello Team 5/6 - Chiara and Silvia plus their handlers
  
• Fratello Team 7 - I'm guessing Raballo and Claes, since we didn't see Bicé in her flashbacks.
  
• Fratello Team 8 - I am guessing Bernardo and Beatrice because I believe we see her in Chapter 18
  
• Fratello Team 9 - I am guessing "Magnus" and "Liesel" because she does not appear until Chapter 33
  
• Fratello Team 10 - Lauro and Elsa because they are said to be the latest fratello per Funimation.
  

I continue to believe that Rico's statement in Chapter 4 about "there are 10 of us" includes Elsa, even though she is now dead. The second tranche of cyborgs (the "Series 2") were a group of 10, so it makes sense for the first tranche (the "Series 1") to also be 10. Also, Pia dies in the video game, so if Rico is not referring to Elsa because she is dead, why would she refer to Pia, who is also dead?

That being said, I do reference Earnest and Pia in my current story, so if you want to believe there were at least 12 Series 1 cyborgs, Earnest and Pia would likely be Fratello Team 7, arriving before Raballo and Claes. And then we'd have at least one unidentified fratello.

-you've outlined the reasons my guess is that there are a bare minimum of 11 first gen fratelli (assuming that Pia is still on the team at the point when Rico says '10 of us')... though I'm inclined to think there were more. I like to go with 13 on this one... just because these girls have had such great luck in life...

also, the SWA has planned for 10 second gen cyborgs... doesn't mean they'll stop there, or even if they'll get all ten. We're still only certain that there are at least... four, right?

Well Kodokuryuu notes Silvia has been with the Agency for three years, which means she was there prior to Rico and Henrietta, who have been there two years if you believe the anime.

So it must just be an easier way to refer to the fratelli and was just assigned randomly - or at least not chronologically.

This poses a problem if you include Pia. Pia stated in the game to Henrietta in arguement during their fight, "...we (Pia and Henrietta) have been together since the beginning..." This would make Pia and Henrietta #3/4 in order for Chiara and Silvia to be 5/6.

This could mean that Angie was never counted as #1 as she was always referred to as the 'prototype cyborg.' This would make Triela #1. But we all know that Angie was the #1 cyborg, and Angie/Marco the #1 fratello.

The only thing I can see out of this is that either Henrietta and Pia came after Chiara and Silvia and the 4 of them came out of the assembly line together within months, if not weeks of each other and have seen each other during the assembly and programming process like Triela and Angie has as stated in V10.

Honestly, at this point I don't care anymore.

We are all at his mercy when it comes to canon.
We just need to come to a consensus that canon happens to be a piece a swiss cheese and the holes need to be filled in. But until then, its a holy piece of swiss cheese.

That would give us 12 teams which would mean with Pia and Elsa dead, Rico's saying "there are 10 of us" now fits - Angelica, Triela, Mystery Cyborg, Silvia, Chiara, Rico, Henrietta, Claes, Beatrice and "Liesel".

Only issue would be that teams 3 - 8 must have been created very close to each other, within months of each other, if not weeks. But I dont find that as an issue. I would even dare say that Rico came in 3 with an unknown #4 and Henrietta and Pia came together. It seems to me that Rico came in quite a while before Henrietta did.

Then the 'Fratello on the Run' mission would have to predate Episode 1/Volume 1, unless Yu has something up his sleeves.

Yes, chances are once Angelica and Triela completed their "field trials" against the PRF, the order was given to bring the rest on quickly.

Assuming the manga opens in December 2004, I would expect Angelica and Triela were converted in 2001. I would expect Pia, Mystery Cyborg, Silvia, Chiara, Rico and Henrietta would have all been converted throughout 2002. Claes and Beatrice throughout 2003 and "Liesel" and Elsa in 2004, though "Liesel" could be 2003, as well.

I am inclined to believe that Elsa had only been with the Agency for no more than six months, which is why most of the girls didn't seem to know her well. I just don't like the idea put forth in the anime that she was very anti-social and refused to participate with the other girls. I just can't see the SWA accepting that attitude for a year or more. I am convinced they would have re-conditioned her to make her more "friendly". But if she'd only been there for six months or so, she would not have been on many missions with the other girls, so her individual performance (Jean and Giuse stated they were one of, if not the, best fratelli) would have...protected...her for a time and it was never able to get to the point where they had to re-condition her before she killed Lauro and took her own life.

Another thing I noticed is that all the cyborgs' rooms shown, with the
exception of the 2nd gens, has bunk beds. Even Elsa's room in the anime
had a Bunk bed. Is this an indication that the SWA was planning on
having more than just 10 or 12 cyborg/fratello teams? The only room
never shown is Angie's room until the end of V9/CH50, and it seemed to me that her room had a single bed in it. Comparing the Manga to the Anime, Elsa's room had a single bed in the Manga but a bunk bed in the Anime.

Funnier still, is that the 2nd Gen cyborg room had more than one bed in
it, and that Petrushka was on top of one of them. Has she a accepted
roomies? I'm sure that most, including cyborgs, would feel
uncomfortable having a friend laying about on their bed with just a
minimal attire.

I operate under the assumption the Series 2 girls also pair up with two beds.
