Re: what you're listening right now
I wasn't criticizing Gerard's skill; he definitely has it. Just the tone of his voice is kinda whiny, IMO, and I don't care for whiny voiced singers. I have the same problem with the Shins; pretty good band, but I don't like the singer's voice that much. I still listen to them, and MCR. It's not an unforgivable flaw.
BTW, I've heard they're an awesome live show.

I'm listening to ClariS' latest single - irony - which is the OP theme to Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii wake ga nai.
The real winner of this CD is track 2: KOKORO no Inryoku.
The third track is also solid:
Recommended.

Add one to Jethro's "winding up my charge" playlist: Herman's Hermits "I'm Into Something Good".
Also, seeing that lefty bass kinda makes me want to try drawing the mob from K-On! dressed up like that.

Herman's Hermits "I'm Into Something Good".
The lead looks a bit like a young Mick Jagger, IMO. ON a less frightening note, they look like a bunch of accountants being strangled by mutant guitars. Jeez those things are high.
Shatner's voice makes everything good.
As for me, I've been listening to B-52s Love Shack...for some reason.

So I'm talkin' to a korean friend, tell him I know a little kprean music,he tells me "really?do you know lee Sun-Hee?" I say "no" he then tells me "then you don't know anything"
And it turns out she's quite a "diva" singer, that's for sure.
Though my favorite part to me is that she went from being "cute in a weird way" (at best):
To "OMG MILF alert!!!":

Scar Symmetry is fucking awesome.
Both the clean and growling vocals were done by the same guy, Christian Älvestam. He was so good at it that when he left the band, they had to replace him with two singers. The new ones are just about as good as Christian, but it's downright amazing that he was able to fill both vocal roles so well.

Flicking through a few of the acts that'll be playing at Sunset Sounds...
Cloud Control "My Fear"... for riding your fixie around to.
Boy and Bear "Rabbit Song"... seriously, how much to I want a necktie hat?
Angus and Julia Stone "And the Boys Go"... brother and sister duo with the most amazing voices.
The Bamboos feat. Megan Washington "King of the Rodeo"... because I simply can't get enough of either of them.

Dream Theater = godly tier
I'm listening to the latest MCR album (Danger Days). Unfortunately, it looks like I spoke too soon when I previously said, after listening to some of the early singles, that this might just equal or surpass the brilliance of Black Parade. MCR evidently set the bar too high with their last album; this one is only about as good as Three Cheers, if not slightly poorer. The best tracks on Danger Days are, with one exception, all wistful ones. My favorites are 'Na Na Na', 'The Only Hope for Me Is You', 'Summertime' and 'The Kids from Yesterday'.

Because I'm in a shiny electro-rock/pop mood, here's a couple off the TripleJ unearthed site (because everyone likes legally free music right?).
Gypsy and the Cat (Seriously, the music's great but I just love the video clip):
Their track "Jona Vark" is available for download off Triple J Unearthed.
Tim & Jean... there's a bit of a Passion Pit comparison to be made here admittedly:
Also available off'f Unearthed.

I am currently listening to Until Morale Improves, the Beatings Will Continue by Murder by Death, off of the 2003 album Who Will Survive and What Will be Left of Them? Reminds me of when I went to see them live just before this album came out. It was awesome, but oh so long ago. I need to go see them again next time they come around.

I just had to share this with you all. I listened to the original and it was pretty damned good. Then I found this remix version and all I can say is...Absolute Eargasm!!!
I never would have imagined there would be a song that so perfectly blends my new-found love and adoration for Hatsune Miku with my long-standing love for heavy metal, but it turns out there is.
P.S. Let's see Kara pull off a dance cover of this one.

As I expected, the Panty & Stocking OST made it out on the Interwebs last night in it's entirety in FLAC (lossless) so I listened to it before bed.
Overall, it's pretty epic. It's been claimed the entire BGM is present, but I'm not positive about that. That being said, all the vocal tracks are there and that was what I was hoping for.
