Politics! (a.k.a.: Why Sintendo thinks Obama will not be a great President... in 5 minutes!)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Git-mo violated Geneva convention rules, etc. That's cool that he's stopping all the torturing, but what about the possibility that some of the detainees carry sensitive information? A fair trial would involve everything that anyone from Git-mo says being public information...

Blah... I just think it's a mistake to close the whole place down. We should have kept it as a high security military prison, rather than shutting it down completely, while working toward regulating how guards treat the detainees.

Also, Obama is setting set himself up to be the most mediocre president ever. He's promised so many things and ideas that the Government can't afford to do right now (I'll leave you guys to search for it, but you can google "Obama's healthcare plan" for starters.).

50 years down the line, the only thing Obama will be remembered for is that he was the first black president of the U.S.

But seriously, guys... ever notice how Obama went from talking common sense at the start to spouting popular rhetoric lately? The two-party system (by which I mean politicians and corporate-lobbyist people) started throwing 'Socialist' accusations, and he changed his tune quick.
But if you review the distribution of wealth in the US, what system of government would spread it evenly without getting rid of all possibility of living better through hard work?

But don't worry, wealthy conservatives. Most of the power is still in corporate hands. Just watch, if the Obama administration gets back to a 'for the people' tack... big money will be taken out of the economy, jobs will be cut or shipped overseas, gas prices will skyrocket again, and people will blame the government.
But that won't happen. They've been sufficiently cowed, they'll toe the line and all will remain the same. the buncha goddamn pussies...

the only way to defeat racism is by ignoring it. all racists are histrionic. if everyone ignores their crap, they'll have to find another way to garner attention.

...and shutting down Git-mo is just another attention grabber. getting in good with the kids (though it was a waste of resources, in my opinion, there are worse ones out there being ignored because they aren't popular in the news media).

Yeah, I'm surprised you guys (sorta) agree with me.

Many people who pray that Obama will actually turn the U.S. shit-hole around and clean us up are only setting themselves up for a miserable disappointment.

Don't get me wrong; we're headed in the right direction by putting our country into the hands of a non-white person, but we shouldn't have chosen him for his skin color alone.

I actually feel bad for Obama. If he doesn't keep this ball of hope rolling along, he'll be ridiculed just like Bush was.

It's a pity that the line between politics and business is blurred in America. Enough politicians
of the two-party machine like Obama face pressure from corporate lobbyists to swing things in the favor of big business. The traditional ideology of Democrats is that they are for people and against big business. But, this belief seems very questionable when their national convention was largely funded by AT&T as a thank-you for granting them and other telephone companies immunity from legal procedures for wiretapping.

As Ralph Nader bluntly stated, Obama has the choice of being either "an uncle Sam for the people or an Uncle Tom for the corporations." But as usual, the mainstream media plays up on the racial connotations surrounding the comment instead of the deeper significance of it.

At least Obama brought people out to vote. If people are becoming more interested in politics, that is probably a positive sign, even though their voices may not be that influential with all the coperate influences in Washington. In other countries, the voter turnout is dropping below 50%.

With the celebrity support and political drama both McCain and Obama put themselves through during the election, I chose to vote third party. Ever since 2000, it's been hard enough for me to take both Democrats and Republicans seriously if they keep digging a hole for America to trench through.

It's not so easy to get rid of political hype. Once a politician's in office, the news media will never stop talking about them and so many people give in to it.

Obama, Obama, Obama....... i hope you'll get USA into a better condition. make sure you don't turn down your voters hope and you'll be OK.

this is just my opinion, but i don't think McCain will be the 2nd Bush. but, maybe, agian just maybe, the most voters didn't want to take the risk. the possibility of McCain become the 2nd Bush is higher that Obama. USA don't need another war when the financial is on war.
