In other WEC news for 2016, both Audi and Porsche will be fielding their two WEC entrants for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as opposed to the usual three. Reason claimed is due to cuts in the motorsports budget by VW as they prepare for the massive financial hits expected in the wake of "Dieselgate".

This means that Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber will not be able to defend their 2015 win (Nico Hülkenberg was already out due to the conflicting Formula One Grand Prix of Azerbaijan).

One candidate for the vacated Mercedes seat is a guy who's been with Mercedes since DTM - one Pascal Wehrlein, to be specific.

He did question why he was overlooked for the Force India seat that was taken by the other Mercedes junior, Esteban Ocon. Well, now's the big chance, IMHO, for Mercedes to put Wehrlein in the prime seat, instead of building him up at Manor. He's been testing with the Mercedes guys for years, and I feel his time must be now, if not later, should some other team snatch him up.

This thread has been dormant for a few years but...Marisa on the 2020 Italian (Monza) Grand Prix.

Marisa: Best last-lap ever.  My favorite driver chasing my favorite team...I couldn't lose either way.  Don't I win some money now for picking Toro Rosso?

The less said about Ferrari's performance in 2020, the better. It was a good thing Monza's stands were empty.

Speaking of Monza and pay-outs, someone in Finland placed a 20 cent bet that Monza would finish as it did and won 33,398 Euros thanks to the 166,990 to one odds!
