A moment of silence...

...for the most deadly son of a bitch in the US military. Chris Kyle, ladies and gentlemen. This man holds the title of the most lethal sniper in US Military history with 160 confirmed kills. He was recently killed while at a shooting range in Texas. I apologize for my informality here, but I would just like to honor such a brave and fearsome soldier. So, again, a moment of silence for Chris Kyle, the "Devil of Ramadi".

I remember him - the master of the Mini-Hecate, a true force to be reckoned with. The irony of him being cowardly murdered on home soil after surviving so many high-octane, lethal engagements abroad is heartbreaking.

Co-creator of the Heroes Project; his loyalty to his brothers and sisters in arms extended beyond service. A true hero in every sense of the word.

The way I've heard it, he was with a guy who he was attempting to rehabilitate from his PTSD, the way he has several times before.

Yeah, a friend of his or some such. Still a crappy way to die either way. If I go out, I'm going down swinging. I mean no offense to Mr Kyle when I say this, for the record.

Rest in peace, Chris. You died as you lived doing your duty as you saw it. Not a bad way to go at all.

It takes a special sort to not only fight when you need to fight, but to offer compassion when its necessary as well. I'm sure Mr. Kyle knew what risk he made helping that man's PTSD, and though he passed too soon, I hope he thought his time was worthwhile.
