Seven Seas Volume 15 Release
Longtime lurker, came across this forum just as the series finished.
I've been waiting to see when Volume 15 gets a listing for release from Seven Seas. Came across a post on their forums from back in October that says they're planning on releasing Volume 15 stand-alone July 2013.

One small thing is bugging me about your version of Gunslinger Girl....
I've noticed in the info for your Omnibus #6 (Jan 2013) only goes up to volume 14, and from what I understand this series completed in Japan and is a total of 15 volumes. Will you release the final volume stand-alone, or what?
We have plans to release Volume 15 as a single in July 2013.

Re: Seven Seas Volume 15 Release
I kind of figured that was the case, given that omnibus 6 only goes up to vol. 14. Personally, I think omnibus 6 should have been a three volume omnibus, but whatever. As long as we get the last volume, I don't care.

that's why i hate publishing delays. i've been buying every volume of negima as they've been published stateside and while the series wrapped up last March, the final volume won't be out until this April 2013
soon as volume 15 goes up on amazon for pre-order, im all over that.

That actually works for me, since I have Volumes 27-36 sitting on my shelf unread.

Re: Seven Seas Volume 15 Release
That is the most annoying part of this circumstance. If Vol. 15 had been included in Omnibus 6, we would have it then, but no, that's on the case. Oh well. I stand by what I said. At least we're getting Vol. 15. It will just mean a little longer wait.kastzy wrote:

Re: Seven Seas Volume 15 Release
my copy of v15 arrived today. read through it and there were some notable differences with translation, and while Seven Seas does a fantastic job, I liked Entropy's translations better.
oh yeah, there's some additional pages here and there. that's all i'll say. for now

I'll have to buy it soon! I haven't had a chance to get all the volumes yet. (I have the first and fourth omnibus) That last chapter will have me in tears again. ;_;

Sure did; finished it today actually (reading a little every day). It has a pretty solemn ending; for those who haven't read the Manga online.

there's definite differences than what we got from Entropy's scanalations.

I don't even remember the scanalation ending. I read them maybe a few years ago after having withdrawals from the series; but when the English Omnibus Manga started being introduced, I waited patiently for each volume to be published. It's certainly a bittersweet ending in Vol. 15.

Re: Seven Seas Volume 15 Release
What makes Vol. 15 interesting for me is how it quite deliberately shied away from action. If I'd been writing it I confess that I'd probably have aimed for one last big boody blowout, whether it had been Claes confronting the soldiers, capturing Cristiano, or the arrest of the Padanian backer. However, you can see how Yu consciously defuses each of these events, even to the leaf fluttering down on the suppressor. When he said that things could change, he really meant it.

Re: Seven Seas Volume 15 Release
The premise of the entire series wasn't meant to be about the soldiers, Christiano, or the Padania. It was about the plight of the girls subjected to everything. To be honest, while some of the later volumes of the Manga were interesting when referring primarily to the goings on of the Five Factions, I was somewhat disappointed that they didn't continue to focus on the girls themselves all the way through. But, on the other hand, some of the "enemy" characters needed to be included, such as Flanka and Franco, and especially Pinnochio.
